For classic British cuisine in Bordeaux, this is the place to go. A traditional pub setting, with dark wood, flowering plants, and a large bar with a television broadcasting sporting events or programs of British interest. The menu includes hearty chicken pie, sandwiches and salads, and of course, fish and chips. A good selection of pastries and crumbles are offered for dessert. Holiday parties and theme evenings are held frequently as well.
Advantages: central with good quality communal facilities Disadvantages: expensive for the quality of bedrooms
...that are represented there are easily accessible. The University Arms itself is located next to Parker's Piece, about 5 minutes walk from the commercial centre of Cambridge and 10 mins (brisk) walk from the river. Many of the rooms look out over Parker's Piece which is an open area of grass - quite pretty, nothing too special.

It has three or so function rooms, including a ballroom, although this room and the Darwin Suite (where I held my reception) are often taken over to provide restaurant facilities.

Advantages: Great location, nice rooms, friendly Disadvantages: Parking charge, busy area

Advantages: culture and wine Disadvantages: some places are dirty
...At the gates of the greatest vintages of the world, at some
miles of the Atlantic Ocean, Bordeaux put a point of honor to
develop its exceptional architectural and cultural heritage. Such
point that it was indicated " Town of Art " by the ministry for the
Culture in 1978. This reward, perfectly justified, makes it possible
to guess the extent of the monuments, museums, rooms of art or places
which make the pride of the capital of Aquitaine. During my many
voyages, I was brought to discover in-depth this city, and eager to
share my knowledge with the ciao users, I propose one to you strolls "
virtual " of Bordeaux. In a slapping of finger, I send to you on the
great place of the Quincunxes which dominates the quays of Bordeaux.
Such your guide, I open the gates of Bordeaux to you (I yes hope for
that I did not forget...
