Its a must........!
Advantages: Great looking city you really must go! Disadvantages: Very unfriendly to cars and your likely to get ran over by a cyclist.
I recentley went to cambridge to visit a friend in hospital,i took a trip into town whilst i was there and boy, am i glad i did...............It is truley beutiful, Yes it is full of shops, but if you don't want to shop then you can ignore them as the facias are very fitting ,the shops simply blend into there surroundings.
I was walking along and there was street music on every corner, and not just your average joe either these people had real talent, you ... ...and ride to get into cambridge the service is regular every 15 mins except sundays when it dosn't run;you catch it back on the opposite side of the road to where it dropped you off , and prices are £1.80p for one trip there and back or, a day rider is £2.70 for unlimited trips on the park and ride bus to various destinations. ...

Three years in Cambridge
Advantages: really beautiful if you know where to go Disadvantages: really shoddy if you don't know where to go
I spent three years in Cambridge as an undergraduate, and this is a guide of Cambridge about where to go! (but sorry, I can't give you information about where to stay because I just stayed in college...)
These are the things that I really enjoyed!
1. The colleges (well duh!)
but not every single college, of course. Kings College Chapel (admission fee needed) is really worth going because that ceiling is very impressive. St John (also needs to ... ...that will give the true Cambridge college feeling rather than Kings, Trinity or Johns, which I think can sometimes get very touristy.
Note: to visit the colleges, avoid April to end of May because that's examination period and no colleges will be opened from visitors.
2. Shopping
Two main shopping centres - the town centre and the Grafton centre. Both are adequate and feature the high street shops. For better, more unique shops, go for the ones ...

Cambridge Park And Ride
Advantages: Cheaper than intown parking Disadvantages: Can be slow during peak periods
I think it is time for an update on Cambridge's park and ride facilities.
There are five Park & Ride sites in Cambridge which all operate Monday - Saturday. Cowley Road ;Madingley Road;Babraham Road ;Newmarket Road & Trumpington. The P&R is a great resource for locals and visitors alike.Parking in Cambridge is expensive at around £1.80 per hour.Anyone needing to stay in town for a length of time will end up owing an arm & a leg! If you are planning ... ...£2 per adult, but 3 children up to 16 go free so it's not a bad deal for a family outing.
Three of the sites, Trumpington, Madingley Road and Newmarket Road also operate on a Sunday between 9am - 6pm. If you are touring the area in a campervan ,I recommend Babraham Road and Trumpington sites,as larger spaces are provided..All the others have height barriers which prevent access for this type of vehicle.
Babraham Road is also the place to park if ...

Down the Mill...
Advantages: Great little pool bar! Disadvantages: A little out of city centre
...the closest decent bar – Mickey Flynns, which is a short drunken stumble away from Will’s flat. Finding it is easy, in Cambridge, locate Parker’s Piece (the big grass area, near a car park, and behind Pizza Hut), continue onto Mill Road, by passing the Swimming Pool and Skate Park, and then just walk down, it isn’t too far, and is easy to notice on the left hand side. Getting In Well, now you have arrived at the place, you need to get in. Mickey ... ...port of call? The bar. Mickey Flynns has a good sized bar, located just as you walk in. On draught, they have a few different beers, of which, include Hoegaarden, which became Jam’s immediate favourite, though the rest of us think it is vile. There is of course the normal Carlsberg and such, as well as an array of bottles. The drinks are well priced, a bottle of Magners will set you back £3.50, and pints are around the similar mark. They do however, ...

East Anglia's best city....
Advantages: Park & Ride, cyclists paradise Disadvantages: Car's penalised with heavy parking costs and road restrcitions
.... and also one of the hardest ones to get to if you live in the outlying villages. Cambridge has a good rail station that is well linked to the main part of the city by regular cheap bus services or a 20 minute walk. If you really want to be with the in crowd though then Cambridge really is a city where the bicycle is king. Cambridge has plenty of places to park your bicycle scattered throughout the city, though this can sometimes still be a difficult ... ...overwhelm the parking stations and the only think more annoying than returning to find your seat nicked is returning to find that someone has fastened their bike nice and securely - to yours!!!
You don't see this often though and if you want to get around Cambridge quickly and easily bicycles really are the way to go. The buses in the city can be quite confusing as they have to serve so many outlying villages and get around restrictions and changes ...
