Cameron Highlands is a highland region located east of Ipoh state. It is 1500m above sea level and has a cool climate, temperatures not rising above 25 degrees and not falling below 12 degrees year-round. I went to Cameron Highlands with my parents on Monday, the 8th. We stayed at Hotel Equatorial, which is one of the best hotels in Cameron. We visited many key attractions, including the strawberry farm, rose gardens, vegetable farms, tea plantations, bee farms, cactus farms and many more.

At the entrance of Equatorial Hotel, to your left, you will go down to Kea Farm, where many stalls lie in. This farm is by far, the most crowded and popular among locals and tourists. However, the traffic there is very messy and you have to be very careful. In Kea Farm, I would recommend a stall selling deep-fried oyster mushrooms, sweet potatoes and baked sweet potatoes. Basically, it is operated by three people and their food is really delicious, you have to try their deep-fried oyster mushrooms. At the road bend of Kea Farm, there's a restaurant selling mainly chicken dishes. I would say that their food is really tasty and you will never forget the taste, especially their salt-rinsed chicken and herbal chicken. Going deeper down Kea Farm, you will see a Rose Centre, which charges 5 RM per person. Initially, my mother was turned off by the charge but the money was well worth, as there are really many different types of rare species of roses. You also get to go up right to the top of the garden, where more variety of colorful roses await you.

About 500m from Kea Farm, you will find Cactus Point, one of the main attractions of Cameron. Cactus Point is a wholesale and retail of cactus. It also sells pots and local souvenirs. You can also enjoy the all-time favourite Nasi Lemak.

Strawberry farms are plenty in Cameron Highlands. Anywhere you go, you are sure to find one. What I will recommend to you will be the one a stone's throw away from Hotel Equatorial. You have to go up a steep slope in order to reach the farm. It's very easy to recognize. Up there, at the farm, you will enjoy Cameron Highland's most famous strawberry juices and other foods related to strawberries.

There are various apiaries in Cameron Highlands. Among these apiaries, I would recommend that you go visit Ee Feng Gu honey bee farm, which is the more established and one of the best. Their experience in bee farming is renowned locally and globally as many bee farmers go to visit them to exchange ideas about bee farming. What's more, you do not have to pay for the entrance fee! If you want, you may purchase their honey and pollen products. In the farm, you will see that the bees are actually flying around, collecting nectar from flower to flower.

In Cameron Highlands, the climate is suitable for growing tea leaves, which are planted in bushes. Plantations like the Boh Tea Estate and Bharat tea plantation are ideal places for you to look at how tea leaves are grown. For me, my family and I went to Bharat tea plantation. We just walked in the plantation and at the same time, we also picked some tea leaves, which I feel was relaxing, adding to the cool breeze blowing against my face.

Of the towns in Cameron, I feel that Brinchang is the best, although it is really messy, in the sense of the parking spaces. This town offers a lot of food and also houses quite a number of hotels. One of another notable hotel is the Rosa Passadena. In Brinchang, you should try the Chinese steamboat, which is a signature dish of Cameron Highlands.

Talking about steamboat, there is also another farmyard, which offers steamboat, of which the soup is cooked with the farm's very own watercress. At this point, you know that the farmyard is a farm of watercress, right? Once you go into the farm, you get to visit the farm's watercress area, to see how these vegetables are grown. If you want, you can also try their steamboat, which I had mentioned earlier.

In summary, Cameron Highlands is the most ideal place for you to relax your body and mind, after long hours/weeks/months/years of working. For me, I would like to visit Cameron Highlands again.
