Advantages: Nice location, plenty of facilities Disadvantages: Expensive, unfriendly, very uncomfortable for camping in a tent
Camping Panoramico Fiesole is over priced and over-regulated. More expensive than the average youth hostel is abroad, the ground is so hard it is impossible to even break the surface with a tent peg. The ground is also very stony and therefore deeply uncomfortable unless you have an air-bed or similar. Don't plan on camping unless you have something to weigh your tent down with!
For those who do not enjoy camping in tents, there is ... ...but I do not know whether this option is good value for money in terms of quality.
The campsite facilities are relatively decent, quite clean but not really of the standard one would expect for the money you pay. There is access to a free ironing room and reception states that you can recharge your mobile for free, although it appears that to plug anything into the electrics you need to borrow a special plug converter from reception. more

For those who do not enjoy camping in tents, there is the facility for taking a caravan/campervan or renting a bungalow, but I do not know whether this option is good value for money in terms of quality.

There is a very nice little swimming pool on the panoramic terrace, but the regulations concerning its usage are prohibitive enough that unless you really feel the need to swim to escape from the heat it is more trouble than it is worth to take a dip. However for families it is worth bearing in mind that the pool does seem very child orientated, with steps in on one side and an even depth which is just the right depth for most children.
The reception staff can be helpful, but do not do well in terms of friendliness and explaining things you are unsure of. They also take part in the campsite spirit of looking to take as much of your money as possible rather than ensuring you get value for your money.
The campsite do run a free shuttle service into Fiesole in the mornings in order to catch the bus into Florence on request which is very helpful, although there is no return service provided. Fiesole is a lovely little town and worth looking around in its own right.
The bus into Florence is also not prohibitively expensive and quite regular running every 20 minutes for most of the day, although it can be hot and crowded, especially on the way back from Florence to Fiesole in the evening.
Overall, depending on what one is looking for this could be a lovely campsite as it is very pretty and in a nice location, with reasonable facilities provided. However, I did not feel welcome and as far as I am concerned it was certainly not value for money and I would not stay there again.
