Canada 3000 is a budget airline specialising, as the name suggests, flight to Canada. I have traveled with them to Toronto and am about to fly out again to Calgary. The flights are always competitivly priced, but what set it apart for me was the actual flight experience.
Being 6ft 3in I dread not being able to get leg room and rely often on getting emergancy exits etc. However even on the normal seats the flight was spacious with enough leg room to stretch out. The food was good and the entertainment up to date. The actual plane looked brand new and was on time. ALthough I have only flowen once with them I still would recommned them to anyone as a cheap high quality operator.
Advantages: Sometimes cheaper than others Disadvantages: Terrible customer service, old planes, can be just as expensive as others
Canada 3000 is, for a budget airline, not bad. However, lately I've noticed that its prices are not very low at all, which totally defeats the purpose - you might as well fly on a better airline if you're paying such high fares. Here are the pros that I experienced in flying with Can3000:
- prices were cheaper than through any other airline - however, that was in summer 1999, and when we were looking for flights in winter 2000 Can3000 was actually ... ...to get my relatives in Canada to book flights for me from there, saving money because buying the flights in Canadian dollars is cheaper than in sterling; but I believe that this is no longer possible...
- they fly to lots of different places in Canada!
If you do happen to find a cheap flight with Can3000, get ready for budget features. The cons:
- overworked staff who do not take requests properly (my partner and I logded our requests for vegetarian ...

Canada 3000 is a charter airline so I didn’t really expect much from them apart from a cheap flight to Toronto. In reality, the service was very good – the flight attendants were all very helpful, the food tasted good and the in-flight entertainment was great. The airline also offered a wide choice of duty-free items for those who wanted to buy anything during the flight. The journey itself was very pleasant as the seats were very comfortable and ...

Advantages: A cheap way to see Iceland if you can spare the time Disadvantages: Not the quickest route to Vancouver
...hopefully, not last experience of Canada 3000 involved a return flight to Vancouver from Gatwick - not the shortest of journeys, and being over 6' the prospect of a non-stop 12 hour flight fills me with nothing but dread. I was relieved to find that non-stop doesn't apply. After a mere 2 hours in the air, we touched down at Rekyavik for an hour or so - hardly time to visit the tax-free shop but a useful stretch of the legs. I believe they offer a ... ...even doing it my way, you can say that you've been to the most northerly duty-free shop in the world!
Then it's off again to Edmonton, a flight of about 6-7 hours, but as the longest leg of the journey, it's only about the length of a typical trans-atlantic flight. After refuelling, and half of the passengers getting off, we could spread out with window seat each, whilst crossing the Rockies. The overall feel of the flight certainly exceeded my ...

Advantages: cheap Disadvantages: cramped, bad service, bad food
Canada 3000's only advantage is it's price, when flying within Canada I suggest West Jet, you typically have more leg room, the customer service is incredible from the in flight jokes to the helpful and friendly stewartesses to the pilot coming out to thank you for flying West Jet is a much more relaxing way to fly.
I once flew from Toronto to Vancouver on Canada 3000 and was not impressed. The flight was very long, the attendants were grumpy, the ... ...flights. I would reccomend taking another airline if possible, West Jet is cheaper and much better, where others such as Air Canada are more expensive but also more enjoyable. Also the food on planes is never good however, the food on Canada 3000 was exceptionally bad. Hope this was helpful! ...

Advantages: Cheap Disadvantages: Rude Staff. Low Baggage Allowance. Third World Service.
Most people are attracted to Air Transat based on price. Fair enough, their flights are always much cheaper than the scheduled airlines, and slightly cheaper than Canada3000 (but not much). But for the money saved, there is a big compromise. Check-in has usually been painless for me, so long as you keep the luggage under the sacred 20kg limit, or else expect to either cry or pay (or both). I usually keep an extra carry-on bag hidden from them on check in (naughty, I know, but necessary) just to bring all my stuff on. The planes are nice from the outside, and clean on the inside, but sitting down is a challenge in itself, as legroom is a scarce resource! The seats are smallish and cramped, although no different than any other charter. The worst part of the flight (unless you get a screaming baby next to you) is the service ...

Advantages: Rats love it! Disadvantages: Old, dangerous, depressing, bad design, no services, dirty, rude staff, Satan as a neighbour
without any real services (shops and restaurants are pathetic), lit by awful fluorescent lights and probably breathing asbestos. Once you cross the security check there is nothing. Only a few seats left over from the 60's, and a grumpy bartended ready to sell you a $7 warm beer. I know I am very negative about this place, but this is not based on a one-time experience - I have flown from this Terminal over 15 times. This review is the result of years of pain - so please learn from it. Most airlines fly into the other two terminals now (Air Canada, and Canadian: T2; Canada3000: T3), but there are a few charter airlines that still use T1, the largest being Air Transat. There are many other reasons you shouldn't fly this airline, but Terminal 1 is the biggest. You have been warned. *the good news is that there is talk of demolishing it soon! ...
Advantages: Friendly staff, good food, cheaper than U.S. Carriers Disadvantages: some delays
I live in Canada, I travel a lot. So what airline do I use? Air Canada of course. Actually your more forced too. With the demise of Canadian Airlines, Canada3000, Royal Airlines and with WestJet just starting to expand, Air Canada is almost your only choice when flying in Canada. But even so, Air Canada is truly a very good airline especially compared to others. Lets look into my flights.
Domestic (From Calgary to Vancouver)
One time I had to fly from Calgary to Vancouver on a business trip. I was (sadly) in Coach though. When checking in, I noticed it wasn't too crowded. There were only 2 people ahead of me. This maybe because Air Canada offers express check-in where you can check-in electronically at a computer. But since I prefer the old fashion way, I went to the desk. The lady was very friendly and always smiled. She ...
