My first, but hopefully, not last experience of Canada 3000 involved a return flight to Vancouver from Gatwick - not the shortest of journeys, and being over 6' the prospect of a non-stop 12 hour flight fills me with nothing but dread. I was relieved to find that non-stop doesn't apply.

After a mere 2 hours in the air, we touched down at Rekyavik for an hour or so - hardly time to visit the tax-free shop but a useful stretch of the legs.

I believe they offer a stopover option to see something of this unique country, but even doing it my way, you can say that you've been to the most northerly duty-free shop in the world!

Then it's off again to Edmonton, a flight of about 6-7 hours, but as the longest leg of the journey, it's only about the length of a typical trans-atlantic flight. After refuelling, and half of the passengers getting off, we could spread out with window seat each, whilst crossing the Rockies. The overall feel of the flight certainly exceeded my expectations of a charter flight.
