Canada 3000 is, for a budget airline, not bad. However, lately I've noticed that its prices are not very low at all, which totally defeats the purpose - you might as well fly on a better airline if you're paying such high fares.

Here are the pros that I experienced in flying with Can3000:

- prices were cheaper than through any other airline - however, that was in summer 1999, and when we were looking for flights in winter 2000 Can3000 was actually more expensive than other airlines; we ended up flying BA, which was much cheaper!
- online searching and booking - but then, all airlines have this now
- I used to be able to get my relatives in Canada to book flights for me from there, saving money because buying the flights in Canadian dollars is cheaper than in sterling; but I believe that this is no longer possible...
- they fly to lots of different places in Canada!

If you do happen to find a cheap flight with Can3000, get ready for budget features. The cons:

- overworked staff who do not take requests properly (my partner and I logded our requests for vegetarian meals no less than 8 times on our return flights to Toronto, yet NONE were successful!)
- small seats
- very little luggage allowance (you may have to pay extra for extra kilos)
- no free drinks
- no free movie (you had to buy the headphones! they were CA$5 - but note that if you have walkman headphones with you, they'll work)
- the planes feel old and a little unsafe as well - but then, they're probably perfectly safe
