What a great range of runs and terrain.
Review of Powder Mountain, Ski Resort by Mufasa_1

Advantages: Fantastic untouched powder and fabulous terrain.
Disadvantages: Rather slow lifts.

...up to its name, the powder was a cut above the rest, it really was that good. The mountain also offers heli skiing for those who like a challenge and for a small fee, around $7 you can be transferred to Lightning Ridge by snowmobile, an area the locals fear due to its sudden rocky outcrops and drop offs that test even the best of skiiers. The instructors were fantastic too, my instructor was called Tom, an ex-marine who was fearless and really pushed ...
...time out there. The lodges were very comfortable as well, the locals are really friendly and the food was good too. You HAVE to try the chilli beef soup, it's fantastic. Another great thing about "Pow Mow" is that a lot of the crowds miss it by going to the nearby popular resorts such as Park City, but they really dont know what they are missing. This resort made my time in America something i will remember for years to come and i would reccomend ... Read review

A cartoon town type of village
Review of Silver Star, Ski Resort by kgb66

Advantages: quality interior snow
Disadvantages: too many intersecting runs

Silver Star Resort (now owned by the same opperator as Big White) is located near Vernon B.C. ************ The Village***************** The resort village is an interesting collection of "victorian style" town house painted in an eclectic mix of bright blues, yellows and pinks. This lends itself to the very fairy tale cartoon feel to the place. The Village is a pedestrian only one and that gives the area a realaxed feel. It is located on the side ...
...*******National Altitude Training center***** Silver Star is the home of the national altitude training center and as a result there are some pretty cool things to do there that are not on offer at every ski resort. Such as taking advantage of the Indoor climbing wall. It is located in the training center. There you will also find a weight training room and the stage that resort staff display their talents on to keep guests entertained. ******** ... Read review

Aspen is ok for the wealthy, lame for anyone else
Review of Aspen, Ski Resort by rspaldi

Advantages: "Exclusive" and beautiful
Disadvantages: costs are prohibitive, and people are extremely snotty

Aspen is a beautiful town. No bones about it. It is surrounded by the Maroon Bells peaks, all of which are 14,000 feet or higher. In the summer and wintertime, it is one of the most beautiful places on the continent, and a fantastic place for hiking. Unfortunately the town of Aspen is extremely overpriced if you want to stay there. Glenwood Springs is a much more affordable place to stay, and it is only an hour or so away. Skiing at Aspen is exactly ...
...(also called "exclusive" by those who hold their noses high). The upside of this is that you can literally run into movie stars and CEOs from all around the world, and you will not encounter the crowds you would meet at Breckenridge or Keystone. The down side is that you will spend inordinate amounts of money, and the "rich and famous" will try to sue you if you accidentally bump into them. This is a very easy thing to do, since most of them can ... Read review

Lake Louise - A beginners perspective
Review of Lake Louise, Ski Resort by Chuckles1987

Advantages: so many
Disadvantages: none

Skiing at Lake Louise was such an amazing experience for me. I went for a week at the very end of the season this year and it was the best snow I have ever seen! This was only my second time skiing (the first was France at christmas) and has helped boost my confidence so much. The runs are very wide and there are some great long runs for beginners. From every lift there is a green run which meant i could spend a lot more time with the rest of my ...
...forest. My experience at Lake Louise has completely built up my confidence, and I just can't wait to get out on the pistes again. It was a fantastic week and I would love to go back there as soon as I can afford to. Obviously it is a bit more costly than Europe but in my humble opinion was completely worth it! The food on the slopes was reasonably priced, better than expected and a good choice of sandwhiches, salads and hot foods. One place I ... Read review

A Winter Wonder
Review of Niagara Falls (Canada) by mackry

Advantages: A fun filled day that packs loads in
Disadvantages: Shabby customer service from the helicopter company

Visiting Niagara Falls for the first time evokes dreams that have been instilled upon the conscience. Whether you have been told tales or seen shots in Hollywood movies, it is a tourist attraction that everybody has some knowledge of. Getting there - I started off in Toronto and joined a bus running day trips to Niagara. There is a different viewpoint if you travel from America where day trips are available from New York. However, I had been led ...
...times. The road to Niagara - JoJo's coach, which takes a maximum of 14 passengers, provided insightful information on the road down. Everybody on the tour was asked to provide a sound bite about themselves to help get to know each other better. The driver was also respectful of those wanting quiet time. I enjoyed hearing the stories of all the people who had tried to come up with their own unique way of taking a trip through the falls. From sitting ... Read review
