Ramada Hotel and Conference Center,
Advantages: large selection of conference rooms for businesses Disadvantages: no entertainment for those not in a conference,
I stayed at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center, Edmonton, for 18 days in October. The stay was not a comfortable one. The check in counter was lined up upon arrival, and always appears to be lined up. The Elevators are ODD. You never know what will happen when you get in one when it finally shows up at your floor. The beds are hard. I was put on a waiting list for a fridge and in the 18 days never received a fridge. The wireless internet was ... ...in the middle of an email. It advertised as wireless but I had to use the cable the majority of the time. There is only two washers and two dryers (that take up to two hours to dry one load), which seems inadequate for the number of rooms in the hotel. The staff at the front desk and the restaurant are somewhat unprofessional. The games room is always out of tokens or the token machine is broken. The drink machine on every floor requires tokens, ...

Crystal Lodge- 4 star treatment in a 3 star hotel
Advantages: Beautiful decor, luxury feel, great location, friendly and helpful staff Disadvantages: Cash deposit in case of damages to the room meant we had a little less available money.
I stayed in the Crystal Lodge during a visit to Whistler and what met me was beautiful, luxurious decor which, unlike many 3star hotels, not only in the lobby but in the rooms also. I loved the fact that we had easy access to the Spaghetti Factory Restaurant without even having to go outside! I also enjoyed 'Ric's Grill' situated also on their premises, for a fantastic cooked breakfast. I feel that staff were polite and pleasant at all times and ... ...consider using this hotel in the future due to my personal great experiences with the hotel. Adding to the fabulous quality of this accommodation was the great central location. I feel that my stay in the Crystal Lodge hotel enhanced my personal experiences in Whistler, doing their best to make me comfortable, which is perhaps the most important duty of holiday accommodation. ...

BC's secret hideway - Golden
Advantages: Beautiful place with fantastic people Disadvantages: Bugaboo Cafe not open in the evenings but there's other places to eat
...views. The food is excellent as well. In the Summer you can experience, as we did, horse riding, white water rafting down the Kicking Horse River, hiking down the Kicking horse Mountain and Mountain biking. We've not skied there yet but it's supposed to be a very good powder resort. ...

Hotel in beautiful Banff
Advantages: Reasonable price, nice rooms Disadvantages: Poor breakfast
Mr Tart and myself recently spent 10 days in Banff for a skiing holiday. We looked around a fair few hotels before deciding on Brewster?s Mountain Lodge. We were looking for something reasonably priced that had some good reviews.
LOCATION:
Brewster?s is not, despite its name, located on the edge of a mountain. It is actually in the middle of Banff townsite, on Caribou Street (yes, nearly all the streets in Banff are named after wildlife!). Banff ... ...the Canadian Rockies. The nearest main airport is Calagary, which has direct flights to the UK, with a 2 hour bus ride from there to Banff itself. The hotel?s entrance is slightly hidden away as it is surrounded by shops but there is a sign indicating to it.
BOOKING AND PRICES:
We booked the hotel as part of a deal with another company in Banff, which gave us the hotel, airport transfers and ski passes. The company was offering the 5th night free ...

Bouncy beds in Kamloops
Advantages: Good hotel and conference centre in downtown Kamloops Disadvantages: None
Picture the gold rush in 1860, and later the arrival of the Canadian Pacific railway and you can understand why Kamloops in British Columbia, at the confluence of two branches of the Thompson River became an important city. It has over 92,000 residents and this is increased regularily when the Rocky Mountaineer train rolls into the station. The hotel is just a few minutes from the shops, musuems etc in Downtown Kamloops, and very close to restaurants.
... ...and we were glad that the hotel had efficient air conditioning because it was very humid. Check in was very fast as we were given keycards before we left the Rocky Mountaineer train, and our cases had already been delivered to our rooms. Reception was a mixture of stone walls and woodwork and had a few settees and chairs, some people took the lifts and others the stairs and we were soon in our comfortable bedroom.
There were 98 bedrooms and suites, ...
