First of all - this was our honeymoon so (as I'm sure you'll understand) we didn't spend as much time as we might have liked exploring Mexico.
However, what we did see was nothing short of breathtaking, including our Hotel.
We stayed all-inclusive at the 5-Star Moon Palace resort. The rooms were nice and comfortable, but nothing spectacular. The beds were HUUUUGE, and the double jacuzzi in every one of the 3000+ rooms is great to return to after a hot day in the sun. In the evening, there is a hammock on the balcony to relax and watch the world go buy, just as long as you've remembered your Mosquito repellant!!
The facilities and surroundings of the Hotel were the big WOW factor. It was set right on a lovely white beach, with clear blue (if a little seaweedy) sea.
However, just a few miles up the coast at the Worlds second biggest coral reef, the visibility and clarity of the water was superb.
The temperature was roughly 36 to 37 degrees celsius every day, even on the few occasions when it rained.
However, it was only when we explored further afield that we discovered the true beauty of the Yucatan Peninsula
