Advantages Great Scenery, Value for money, Pristine beaches
Disadvantages not much
Cape town is an aersome place. i love it so much and would highly recommend anyone visit it. From pristine wite beaches, the awesome mountan and the V&A waterfront, this is the place to be! It is also very cheap whe nyou are coming over from the united states or europe bercause of the exchange rate. a beer costs around $1 - $1.50. Cape town is relatively safe compared to most south africa ncities, especially johannesburg, mostly due to the huge tourist industry. cape town is pretty small and easy to travel around. there is no trains or decent bus service, but you can hire a car for really cheap, and the are tour buses in the city. i highly recommend going there

It was Bartholomew Dias that stumbled across Cape Town in 1488. Jan van Riebeek was specifically sent there by the Dutch East India Company to establlish a settlement in Cape Town to replenish passing ships travelling between Europe and Indonesia, then known as Batavia. The company ran the Cape Colony until the British kicked them out in 1806.
