Wouldn't recommend it.
Review of Brenwin Guest House by claireadd

Advantages: Jacuzzi
Disadvantages: Breakfasts and maintenance of the property

We stayed at Brenwins last October, having arrived in Cape Town on a Sunday with nowhere to stay. We found it in the Portfolio Guide (a very useful free accomodation guide) and it looked lovely. The only room available with a sea view was the honeymoon suite, but at only £45 for the room it was a snip, so we booked in. It's not in a bad location, a short walk to the waterfront (uphill on the way home!) and has parking. Our room was spacious, with ...
...the sea - but it wasn't the greatest view! I should have known when we walked through the garden and saw the plastic knomes and plastic flowers in the hanging baskets that it wasn't going to be great, but I wasn't quite prepared for the pinch I got when I sat on the toilet seat - it had a huge crack right through it! We stayed for three nights and reported a few defects in our room (the toilet seat being one of them!)and were assured that it would ... Read review

Table Bay Hotel - Visit October 2007
Review of Table Bay Hotel, Cape Town by Maggie5042

Advantages: Everything you could possibly want in a hotel
Disadvantages: None

...2004 and stayed at the Table Bay Hotel in Cape Town for part of their honeymoon. Such was their delight with the hotel they returned there in 2007 and invited us to go with them. We had heard about the hotel from them but it was even better in reality. 5* plus really cannot describe the excellent service we were given during our stay. Nothing was too much trouble. The staff were superb and all the facilities out of this world. I would 200% recommend ... Read review

A cullinary suprise
Review of Cullinan Hotel, Cape Town by KELLYLOUJ

Advantages: Value for money, luxurious
Disadvantages: None

...stay in two hotels The Cullinan was the first of my stay. We had prebooked a transfer with the Hotel direct to collect us from Cape Town Airport, it was a top of the range mercedes (most hotels use this car for pickups) it cost us R100//£9.00 approx and the transfer took approximately 35 minutes and it was definately the most stress free transfer I have ever had. The Cullinan is a 4 star hotel and once we arrived at the hotel, we were greeted by ...
...was only staying in the Cullinan Inn for 2 nights we had to transfer to our next hotel The Table Bay, we asked the guest relations desk if we could pre-book a taxi, they advised us that there was a free coach service that picked up at the hotel and took guests to the waterfront where our next hotel was located they said that if we asked the driver he would drop us off there at no charge, this to me was outstanding customer service and we offered ... Stay at Bluegum Hill
Review of Cape Town Guest House by claireadd

Advantages: Friendly, great food, honesty bar, home comforts, views etc.
Disadvantages: Really need a car to stay there.

This place really was a 'find' - absolutely wonderful. It's situated just under the Lions Head on Merriman Road in Greenpoint and has the most awsome view of Table Bay, Waterfront etc. Someone had told us that the best Guest Houses always have an animal of some sort and the dog which greated us here was no exception to this rule. The owner AissiParenti is really welcoming and helpful and the bedrooms (just 5) are of the highest standard. There are ...
...wonderful view. They have an honesty bar, and the most wonderful breakfasts ever - home made bread, muffins and then full cooked english with ALL the trimmings - absolutely ne need for lunch. You only have to look at the scrapbooks of guest letters and comments which adorn the coffe table to see just what a home from home this is. Our only problem was that we could only stay one night! Be sure to book! www.bluegumhill.co.za tel. 021 439 8764 email ... Read review

If you want to stay in Cape Town, stay here!
Review of Table Bay Hotel, Cape Town by Matey2U

Advantages: Safe location
Disadvantages: No indoor swimming pool (that's all I can think of!)

A lovely hotel, in a great location. That sums it up! In the UK it would be a 4*, but you you are in South Africa. Little things are different - for example you don't get fresh toiletries upon arrival, you will have half-full bottles and they only get replaced when they are completely empty. Nothing major, but I notice things like that! This is probably the best hotel in Cape Town. While we stayed there the red carpet was out as dignitaries & celebrities ...
...the car park to make you feel like a dignitary! If you want to go for a romantic holiday you need to book the honeymoon suites. We stayed in a normal room, and they have two beds pushed together with single bed linen on each so tightly folded that you struggle to get it out. It's just not the same as having a double bed. ...
