Advantages: An electric mix of shops and market stalls. Disadvantages: Maybe, just maybe could be a little cleaner looking in some places.

Cardiff is a shopper’s paradise. There is ample car parking (but you have to pay for it), its well serviced by buses and the train station not that far away. Outdoor shopping, modern indoor malls, quaint arcades and a huge indoor market all go to make up the ‘Cardiff Shopping Experience’. All the main high street shops are centred surprisingly around the high street (Queen Street), whilst the numerous long and winding oldie worlde arcades offer such a magical mix of shops with not a whiff of high street commercialism/consumerism in sight. The modern indoor malls are always clean but absolutely jam-packed with people at lunch times. One of them deserves a mention here and that’s the Capitol Shopping Centre. Its architecture is very, very modern combining gravity defying wall of shop front glass as well as a glass bridge that you can actually walk across. Not much to say about the indoor market except that is it just an indoor market albeit a huge sometimes messy one.
It is reassuring to know that the shopping centre is a car free zone whilst if you want free entertainment there is always someone busking away with there violins, guitars or even didgeridoo. A small article like this does little justice to Cardiff as a shopping centre – perhaps you need to experience the ‘experience’ yourself!
Advantages: Shops under one roof Disadvantages: Busy on weekends
The Capital is really the main shopping centre in Cardiff.Situated at the top of Queen Street(the main shopping street)and right near Queen Street train station you cannot miss it!
Recently it has been renovated and now it's very interested to look at and is eye catching. In the centre, all the main shops can be founf including the Gadget Shop, H&M, Boots, abd Virgin to name a few. There is also 3 cafes, and a very expensive high quality chocolate ... ...on really the roof of the place. You can normally find a place there and prices are reasonable although it's very tight to get in it although spaces are spread out well and quite large.
Most weekends there's usually some enterainment put on for shoppers outside H&M's such as a model show or piano recital. The place is usually very crouded on the weekend although week days it calms down a lot.
Upstairs in the Capital you can have u'r nails pedicured ...

Advantages: lots of variety, street performers, easy to get to Disadvantages: can get very crowded at times
the Queens Arcade, The CapitolShoppingcentre and St Davids Arcade on it, which both lead to more facilities and stores for shoppers.
Food wise if you want a great meal at a decent price there is Pillars Restaurant (Unfortunately I dont think it is accessible for people in wheelchairs or with walking problems as you have to go downstairs) or if your just looking for junk food then there is a McDonalds near the castle end (accessible for disabled people with disbaled toilets, wide opening doors and ground level seating) or further up the street there is Burger King (not really accessible for disabled people - upstairs toilets narrow doors)
Overall, Queen Street is a great place to shop, with a variety of places to go. ...

Advantages: As cheap as you like Disadvantages: Not well advertised
and plenty of cafes serving hot food both takeaway and for a cheap sit down meal.
On my last visit to Istanbul I stayed at a very simple hotel in Sultanahmet which was very clean and ideal for shopping as it was easy to access all areas from there. The square in Sultanahmet is quite spectacular with the mosques and a few tourist shops and adoreable places to eat which are rather quaint and friendly.
The accomodation was cheap more importantly clean and welcoming.
The joy of Istanbul is that the variety is so grand. You can shop as simply or exquistely as you like from CapitolShoppingCentre to Bagdat Caddesi or Nisantasi and the sales are amazing usually at the end of February.
As for sightseeing why not visit Dolmabache the grand Palace where Ataturk died and experience nothing short or something spectacular and breathtaking ...

) which now houses three major covered shoppingcentres - The CapitolCentre (Monsoon, Accessorize, The Gadget Shop, Virgin etc), The Queens Arcade (Disney Store, La Senza, The Pier, Argos etc) and the St David's Centre (Marks & Spencer, BHS, Boots, Mothercare etc) - these three being the best places to go if you are looking for up to the minute fashion and accessories, with plenty of 'coffee stops' along the way such as Starbucks, Coffee Republic etc.
At the far end of Queen Street is the impressive Cardiff Castle and it is here that you enter what is known as the 'Castle Quarter'. This is where you will find many of Cardiff's Victorian shopping arcades with a wealth of smaller speciality shops such as boutiques, Welsh souvenirs, home decor, camping supplies, antiques, curios etc. This really is the place to slow down and browse - there ...
