I have used CarJet, via their web site, carjet.com to book cars on several trips to Spain. CarJet themselves do not rent out any cars, instead they act as a broker and they use their local and industry knowledge to get you the best deal.
Bookings are made via their web site, which is in English. They have a full list of destinations and car types from a Clio right up to 7 seaters, converatbles and Mercedes. You just point and click and make the right combination for yourself in terms of dates, cars and locations. They will then email you with a price, if you're happy with it simply reply and the booking is made. You can make multiple enquiries as I did and they do not get muddled or confused in any way.
What was especially pleasing was the fact that the booking does not need to be paid until arrival, however, they do insist on credit card payment. Secondly, you are free to cancel or change your booking with no penalty charges. As CarJet's deals change all the time I found myself cancelling previous bookings and taking up the newer offers as they were cheaper. This caused no problem whatsoever.
The car companies they use are main line organisations, based at airports and not on the other side of car parks as you tend to find with smaller hire companies. There is no deposit or excess needed, full insurance and CDW is included in the price. The only extra is the price for a tank of fuel, which is charged at pretty fair rates, just make sure you run the car as low as you can getting it back.
In terms of vehicles, I paid £210 for two weeks with Peugeot 306 manual with air con. This was in high season. My booking was passed onto a local company called Solmar who couldn't have been more helpful. Despite arriving at 1 am they were there and ready for me, at no extra charge. The car was upgraded by two models to a Ford Focus Estate as they had run out of my chosen car. The car was brand new and unlike some hire cars had all it's wheel trims and a CD player.
The collection process took around 5 minutes, all details were already on the system, I just presented my booking email and driving license. Returning was swift and trouble free too with someone waiting to greet me in the car park.
As with all hire cars, you are chosing a car from a range and you may not get the exact car chosen but will always get one of comparable size and features. They have a range of car seats and roof racks, extra drivers are included in the price and their grasp of English was very good.
The CarJet manager was an English gent, not that I ever needed to talk to them, but you can contact them by phone, fax, email or online chat. All requests were handled very quickly and I have recommended this firm to several friends who have found them to be first class too.

Thank you for very helpful review. We have just booked a jeep with this comapny who I had not previously heard of before, and were very wary especially as we have had some bad experiences with other car hire companies before. We have only paid £155 for a week in spain for this jeep which seemed to good to be true.
