Whilst this review is about Carjet.com which is a broker. I hired my car from Palma Airport and the hire company the broker had used was Europa Rent a Car. (See separate review for this). This review only really deals with Carjet.com website itself not the actual car I hired this is why I have written a seperate review for that.
My Search ========
Always one to be looking for a bargain I set about searching the net for the best priced car hire in Mallorca.
I spoke to a friend and he recommended that I try www.carjet.com. So I did. He had used them many times and been highly happy with the service he had received and said that the prices were great.
So I tried them and got my car cheaper than
any of the other sites I had tried. 123 Euros for the week for a Renault Clio with aircon in mid July - this I though was very acceptable and proceeded to book the car.
The Website =========
Basically the website is well designed and easy to use. It contains almost all information you require. The only piece of information I couldn't find (and that might just be me) was what documents you needed to take with you to pick up the car.
On the website each place you may be visiting (or indeed can hire a car from) is listed down the left hand side of the page - at every step you go to you can access links to all other parts of the website. It is very clear and easy yo use. It contains many pictures and clearly shows the pricing structure for each can you may wish to hire.
The Booking Procedure ==================
First thing to mention is that you can read the website in many languages (see the bottom for all other websites in different languages) and you can pay in many currencies.
PLEASE NOTE: You may not always get the car you request - if you don't mind then read on.
Ok so the first step is to choose where you would like to pick up your car from (long list of options down the right hand side of the screen). I chose Palma Airport.
You are then presented with a page of information and at the top a series of options. From these options you can find out all the informationn you require by clicking on the links. The links remain on the page so you can access them at any time.
Once you have your final quotation and can book on line. If you do not want to book at that point you can opt to have the quote sent to you by email and book later.
Once you have booked you can either pay there and then or pay on collection.
I received a further email with all my details and a link to their website where I could print off my voucher. You need this to show at the rental desk on arrival at your pick up point.
Included in the price ================
All car hire insurances with NO excess value! Local car hire taxes & airport charges. Additional drivers
Whats Not Included ================
Fuel is not included Lost car hire vehicle keys. Off-road or negligent use. Traffic fines. Vehicle glass & locks.
My Advice ========
Check your voucher that you print off - dependant on the hire company you may be asked to prepay for a full tank of fuel. At the end of the hire, simply return the car hire vehicle back to the car hire station at Palma Airport as empty as possible. You do not receive money back for unused fuel so try and use it all.
My Opinion ========
I will definitely sue Carjet.com anytime I need to rent a car in any area they service. The whole experience was fantastic - I had no problems at all.
They can be contacted by phone fax or email and even on line chat. Their call centres are open from early morning around 9am to late at night around 11pm.
You can hire anything from a small Ford Ka to a 7 seater people carrier. The rates are excellent and the service is second to none.
I would recommend that you read all the small print though cos I had missed the bit about the Full tank - empty tank situation and my understanding of this is that all the companies that this broker use operate this procedure differently. You may arrive at you car to find it has no fuel at all and you have to go and fill it up yourself.
All in all a top experience that I would recommend to anyone.

i love these guys, i've never had a problem with them - my family and i use them about 3-4 times a year! the best thing is that you can keep getting quotes with the fluctuation in exchange rates, and then go with the cheapest!!!! angela x
