Expensive but luxurious
Advantages: Luxurious, Lively Cardiff Bay Location Disadvantages: Price, Distance From City Centre
Situated in Cardiff Bay, St Davids Hotel and Spa is Cardiff's only five star rated hotel. Don't be suprised if, while being pampered in the luxury marine spa or enjoying drinks in Tides bar, you catch sight of a few famous faces! St Davids Hotel is four miles from the city centre, making it quieter than central hotels but less convenient for tourists planning to go shopping or sightseeing. Transport is available into the city centre by train and ... ...biggest waterfront development. Since it was regenerated, it has become a major attraction for visitors to Cardiff. A range of attractions are available, including water tours, Techniquest discovery centre and the Welsh Assembly building. There are also a selection of stylish bars and restaurants within the Atlantic Wharf development which provide top quality drinks and dining. Rooms:
With prices starting at £84 per room per night, St David's hotel ...

A bed to die for
Advantages: Clean modern hotel in the heart of Cardiff, Disadvantages: A little pricey for many, car parking not included.
...there varying enormously. The Park Plaza I'm pleased to say, is definitely one of the best. The hotel is relatively new, and has only been open 2 yrs. It is located behind one of the main shopping streets, and within a 5 minute walk of the CIA, St Mary's Street (bars/clubs galore) and Cardiff Castle. Even to walk to the Stadium would be under 10 minutes even at my pace! Be careful with directions to the hotel as there are a few one way streets in ... ...you. The car park is a standard NCP just over the road. A discounted ticket is available and cost around £7 for the 24 hours. Into reception- this is very tastefully decorated in a modern contemporary theme. Lots of comfortable seating and art work. Reception was swift on both occasions we have stayed, although i was very wary when i was informed they'd have to authorise my card for an extra £50 to my card in case of "extras". I prefer to pay as ...

A Sophisticated Stay in Cardiff
Advantages: Sophisticated, swimming pool, comfortable Disadvantages: Expensive
...I think I prefer the Novotel now anyway!
~~Location, Location, Location~~
Location is a pretty important factor in choosing a hotel and the Novotel won’t be for everyone. The website lists it as being in central Cardiff, but I would argue that it’s a little further out than that. Granted it took us about 10 minutes to reach the shopping centres, but this is over quite a few busy main roads and those who aren’t so agile may prefer the location of ... ...buildings. Half of the Novotel building was originally an old building for another purpose and it had been done up really tastefully with a glass divide between the new building and the old one.
Again, if you don’t mind walking, the hotel is a short walk away from the bay which is definitely worth a visit. The only downside to the location is probably that its quite near some rather run down warehouses which we accidentally walked through on our ...

Scot goes Dutch in Cardiff
Advantages: A quality hotel close to the city centre Disadvantages: A little impersonal
...Internet search we settled on MacDonald Holland House.
We were quoted £98 for the Friday and £126 for the Saturday for a Superior Room with breakfast included by the hotel's website. The Superior room is in fact the starting room, if you want a little more luxury you can choose from a Club Room, a Kings Suite or even the Presidential Suite. There are 160 rooms in total.
The Hotel was very easy to find, taking Junction 29 off the M4 if coming from ... ...West. and very close to the City Centre on the Newport Road. We arrived at about 9.30pm and were warmly welcomed. Our car was quickly whisked away to the underground car park, at a cost of £8 per 24 hours.
The lobby of the hotel was spotless and designed to impress. The desk staff greeted us warmly and then told us we had arrived on the wrong day. Knowing this wrong we insisted and were given a room. A fair bit of toing and froing later and it turned ...

Vale Hotel review
Advantages: Quality all round Disadvantages: None
We have run a number of business events here so I'll be reviewing this with a view to the conference facilities as well.
Firstly the hotel side of things. The staff were fantastic from arrival to finish on each occasion, sorting out all sorts of requests at all hours of the day or night, there also never seemed o be a time where they were lacking in numbers, unlike for instance most hotels at night when one person seems to run the entire building.
... ...the bathroom facilities, I have never had a bad nights sleep here.
The sporting facilities are second to none. I don't golf but my colleague assure me that it is an excellant course and the gym in well stocked with nearly all types of equipment that anyone could want. The one downside is that you have to be sure to up early as the facilities attract many people who are not staying at the hotel as well.
The resteraunt is very good, breakfast is ...
