So it wasnt until returning some years later to see westlife twice and blue that my opinion changed!
Firstly the CIA is smack bang in the middle of cardiff ... ...parking fees are costly in cardiff generally)!
The CIA is home to many events such as concerts and shows. Generally i have only been to concerts there so I can not comment on anyother event that happens there. When you first enter the CIA there are some charming people on the door waiting to check your tickets ect. Firstly the CIA is smack bang in the middle of cardiff and is very very easy to get to, it is a short walk from the central train station and is situated around the corner from a NCP car park which is handy but is expensive and you can be queing up for ages to pay for you ticket and then you have to get out of the car park but hey thats another story.(Car parking fees are costly in cardiff generally)!

When you get throught th doors you are in the main foya where you can buy some refreshments which are over priced hugley so i tend to bring stuff with me as i think its a rip off paying well over the odds but then they have to make there money i guess. There are CIA staff floating around so you can ask them to check your ticket and they will point you in the right direction to your seat.
When entering the main arena you will notice that it is all seated (it was on my concert) and there are 3 blocks on the ground leve and then there is seat around the sides. I was situated in block 3 so i was on the ground level 20 rows back and i had an amazing view and maaged to get some fab pictures of my westlife boys. i am aware that teh seating layout in the CIA can change depending on the type f event so this may not be what you see.
During the build up you have staff selling refreshments again and programes that are costly aswell but i think that is more to do with the band than the CIA so we cant blame them for that!
Most importantly there is a bar in the CIA again i think that it is overpriced but then most convinent bars are so its not unsual for Cardiff to charge a fortune for anything. There are toilets in the CIA but i have always fund there is a huge que but then isnt there always in ladies loo's?
The one thing i did fond was that staff were quite miserable and not smily at all but then it may just be that they are fed up of the same show night in night out i guess we will never know.
Overall i would say that the CIA is a faily large venue for an event and bands such as Westlife have sale out concerts there i know thats mainly the band but the venue muct also be good as they keep coming back to cardiff!
From what i can remember all emergency exits are clearly marked and they have stewards floating arond that help people out if they are needed. Disabled people are also catered for as there is disabled seating and lifts to take the less mobile up to the higher levels. definatly suitable for all, and safetly is there main concern NO STANDING ON SEATS!
Grat venue cant wait to see boyzone again now in may yayayayay

...is in the centre of Cardiff and within reasonable walking distance of the main shopping areas and Central station. There is also a large multi-storey car park just around the corner, though the prices there are somewhat steep (they are in Cardiff i general mind).
The goons on the door were a little unfriendly but didn't cause any problems at all. I had to pick up my ticket at the box office which is actually hidden a little around the corner ( to ... ...were in the arena itself is easy to get around, there are basically several configurations of seating. For stage shows there is about 30 rows of seats on the floored area as well as the edges. For pop concerts there is only seating on the edges (still many many seats) and standing room in the middle. The boxing configuration has the ring in the middle and some foor seats.
The floor seating looked a little uncomfortable (they had done the tie chairs ...

CIA - Cardiff International Arena. Sounds posh doesn't it? My sister once went there to a blue concert, she was nervous before she went, she was only about 11, but when she came back, those tearful nerves had chagned, melted, navished into beautiful hapinness. She felt it was as if it was destiny for her to be there that night because Duncan (Who?!) from Blue and Lee (come again?!) had waved to her on stage. She was thrilled, smitten, so ... ...While she vagly described the CIA, I had this image in my head of it. My image was much better than what she had described, but it always is isn't it? Huge, massive, so big that she couldn't believe it was how she described the arena. It had ana amazing stage she said, ideal for concerts (well duh!) and the chairs were going up if you get me, so everyone could see the popstars. She enjoyed this "adventure" so much ,she wanted top go again. She has ...

Advantages: Location and price Disadvantages: Bog standard rooms
My partner and I booked The Big Sleep hotel to stay in after watching at concert at the CardiffInternationalArena back in December. The hotel is in a great location, comfortable walking distance to all Cardiff's attractions including the arena, train station, shops and bars. The car park is fairly small though so you may struggle to get a space at peak times.
The reception is very modern with abstract furniture and first impressions of the hotel are great. At £55 for a double room, it offers good value for money too.
On arrival in our room I must admit I was a bit dissappointed, while the rest of the hotel looks sleek and stylish, the room looked like something out of an Ikea catalogue. It was very clean and simple but lacks the design touches which you will find throughout the communal areas of the hotel.

After booking tickets to see James Blunt at the CardiffInternationalArena, I decided I didn't really fancy driving back to Bristol afterwards and it would be quite nice to spend a couple of days in Cardiff, so I set about looking for a affordable hotel not too far from the centre of Cardiff.
Searching various internet sites I came across the Novotel hotel. For those of you who have never heard of them, Novotel operate more than 412 hotels in 56 countries and market themselves as an 'international network of convenient, modern hotels for comfortable business and leisure travel'. But back to Cardiff?..
