An expensive Thai-me
Advantages: Good service, nice surroundings Disadvantages: Far too expensive for the food
...this happened to be the Thai House.
LOCATION:
The Thai House is located at 3-5 Guildford Crescent in Cardiff city centre. There is a car park opposite the restaurant which you access from Bridge Street. There is some on street parking outside the restaurant as well but I’m not sure of the parking rules for these spaces. EXPERIENCE:
We were running late and were grateful that we’d found somewhere to eat without resorting to the evil McD’s. We had ... ...we went in to the Thai House, hunger was taking over where our brains used to be! The restaurant looks quite traditional. There are lots of plants and lots of bamboo. The waiters and waitresses were all dressed in beautiful silk Thai clothes. All of the waiters, waitresses and cooks are all Thai which makes you feel like you are getting an authentic experience.
The waiter did offer to take our coats, we kept ours but it’s nice to know that they ...

The Hungriest Horse At the Elms!
Advantages: Cheap & Cheerful, Great Value Disadvantages: Waiting times for food can be slow
The 3 Elms situated at the bottom of Merthyr Road in Whitchurch used to belong to the Beefeater Group. In March 2004 this changed and The 3 Elms became 'The Elms' run by the Hungry Horse chain. under the parent company Greene King.
The Hungry Horse concept in Cardiff was new, shortly after a further restaurant in Barry opened.
The Elms, as it is now called, is situated just of a busy main road (Merthyr Road), it has 2 car parks, one either side ... ...have to either park in the road behind or across the road. You could also park in Whitchurch and walk down if you felt so inclined but this, in general is not needed.
You can either enter through the bar entrance, which has no step and is adequately sized for wheelchair users and pushchairs to get through, although then you enter the bar, not always great for children, but this is a minor inconvience. There is a further entrance which leads to the ...

Treated like royalty
Advantages: cheap prices on food and drink, nice atmosphere Disadvantages: lack of staff
...it is most likely that the first pub/bar you will notice when you leave the station is the Prince of Wales. On my every visit to Cardiff I used to walk past the big, impressive looking building on my way into the city centre and now that I've become a resident of Cardiff (and since I've become able to legally drink alcohol!) I decided to give it a try. The Prince of Wales is located conveniently in the centre of town, a neighbour to many other clubs, ... ...Mary Street.
The pub is part of the J.D.Wetherspoons chain, renowned for buying old derelict buildings and converting them into some of the grandest public houses ever seen. Some of the buildings they have converted include theatres, banks, cinemas, post offices and even a funeral parlour!
A bit of interesting History of the building

Buffs- Mount Stuart Square
Advantages: Friendly atmosphere, reasonably priced, child friendly Disadvantages: Can't think of any.
Buffs is situated in the heart of the old part of Cardiff Bay at No. 8 Mount Stuart Square.
Buffs is a good quality restaurant and wine bar where children are welcomed.
During the week the downstairs wine bar is open for lunches and early evening bar meals, with specials starting at £5 per head.
'Lighter Bites' can be had in the bar downstairs, these range from salads to jacket potatoes to hot meals and omelettes.
The restaurant is open upstairs ... ...for a superb two course traditional roast.
Bookings are advisable as Sunday lunch here is very popular.
The childrens' portions were only slightly smaller and were significantly cheaper.
We booked a table of of eight here for a Sunday lunch. We ordered a variety of starters, home made soups, prawn cocktails, pate, and a few helpings of Bajan fishcakes with Barbados sauce.
The main course was choice of roast meat, roast beef, (pink of course, ...

Flares -Great night out with friends
Advantages: Good atmosphere ,cheap ,great music Disadvantages: Age range!
...suggested a night out to Flares , i was tempted to say No as i had heard alot of different opinions of it and people telling me that i didnt want to be seen dead in there. But not wanting to turn a night out down , i thought id go and experience it for myself. It is a fairly small club with a dancefloor that when the club is busy can get packed very quickly. They play a good mix of music from the 60's . 70's ,80's and 90's . the prices for drinks ... ...are regular giveaways and the staff are all dressed up. The only downside is that the people in there tend to be alot older ( im 23 and i felt like the youngest person in there!) howver there it has a great atmosphere.
If you like different types of music from the past then get down there and boogie!! ...
