Brockenhurst is south of Lyndhurst, follow the A337 south out of Lyndhurst and Brockenhurst is about 4 miles away and is truly in the heart of the New Forest. It is very much geared for the tourist and in the off-season it can be quite and peaceful. The High Street has a small amount of local shops, cafes and a small car park. The train station has a few pubs around with the famous 'Snake Catchers Inn' just over the main road and the 'Foresters Arms' just a stagger away. There are some very nice restaurants in Brockenhurst, namely 'Il Palio 2' (Italian) in the old station hall and 'Le Blairaeus' (french) near Carey's Manor on the A337. Advantages: Lots of history Disadvantages: Mainly ruins
...The Manor Castle lies approximately two miles to the south east of Sheffield City Centre. Today there are only ruins that now remain of this once magnificent Castle that was built in 1510. It achieved its greatest fame as the place where Mary, Queen of Scots was held captive for a period that spanned 14 years, except a few short breaks in Derbyshire at Buxton, Chatsworth House and the nearby Sheffield Castle.
The ruins of Manor Castle now occupy a patch of land in the middle of a Housing Estate that takes its name from this Building. It is called the Manor Housing Estate. Manor Castle is sometimes referred to as Sheffield Manor or the Manor Lodge.

Drayton Manor is a large theme park located just outside Tamworth, Staffordshire on the A4091 it is easy to access from the M42 motorway.
