The Cariba Creek Waterpark is the waterpark at Alton Towers. It is built into the Alton Towers Splash Landings hotel. It has many indoor water cannons, hot tubs, waterslides and even a water coaster! This is my experience.
My parents and I were staying at the Alton Towers hotel, (we have the Merlin Pass so we decided it was worth going to Alton Towers.) we stayed there for two nights and on the second day we decided to go to the Cariba Creek Waterpark.
When we walked through the Alton Towers hotel on the reception floor, we passed through some rooms than we noticed the carpet changed...so we knew that we WERE in the Splash Landings hotel.
We brought our tickets, but because we were staying at the hotel, we got a discount, if you stay at the main hotel you get a discount (like us,) but if you stay at the Splash Landings hotel, it's free. Under 3's are also free. It was £29 for all three of us. In my opinion, this is great value for money!
Then we went to the changing room, the lockers had that annoying put-in-a-pound thing attached on the inside, luckily, we came prepared. A pound was inserted and we used that locker.
There is a cafe in the waterpark so don't worry about bringing your own food.
After that, we went into the waterpark itself, the first thing we did was get wet...by having water cannons shot at us! That was fun, though! We went on the outdoor slide, Flash Floods. You pick your route, at the top, left lane or right lane, then you come down with a splash, then pick either the left, middle, or right lane. It was fun splashing down when it spat you out and picking a different route. I loved being shot out at the end, one lady asked me, "Is it fast?" I said, about 20mph, because that is the speed you go at, when you're lying down like you're supposed to!
When we had down different routes on the Flash Floods, we wanted to unwind so we relaxed in one of the hot tubs. Under 5's are not allowed. I then shot some people with one of the water cannons. Great fun!
My dad and I decided it was thrill time again so we went off to ride the Master Blaster water coaster. My mum relaxed in a deckchair. We waited about 5 minutes for a double dingy, and then 10 minutes to ride the Master Blaster. We had a wristband which you get when you enter the changing rooms, so we could buy our photo. The ride was brilliant but please note: two adults are NOT permitted to ride together. The Master Blaster itself is phnomenial!
Then I rode around on a giant transparent ring. I got wet AGAIN! It was great fun riding on it, more fun trying to get on the ring itself! There are buckets of water that empty themselves on you and a waterfall.
I then got lots of people wet by shooting them with a water cannon, tipping water on them and in all sorts of other ways!
Then me and my mum went on the Master Blaster, same queue times but two men wanted to ride on the yellow dingys, but they wern't allowed. You are also not permitted to bring your OWN dingy to ride on. You are also not allowed any toys in the waterpark except for beach balls.
After that we went on the Rush 'N' Rampage, you never have to wait for a dingy, these are yellow and Rush 'N' Rampage has a different route. This was brilliant!
Finally, we unwinded in the Bubbly Wubbly pool, this was an outdoor hot tub that has lots of bubbles. Great to unwind and relax.
Overall it was a fantastic waterpark and I would highly reccomend it. The slides are brilliant and it's fantastic when you wet everyone! However, I would like more, yes more, waterslides.
Hope this helped, AlexanderBanks
