The 'we' in question were my me, my husband and our 11 year old son - as anyone knows who takes away a child of this age, if they are happy so are you!!

Caribbean Village Agador

When we booked a two weeks all inclusive holiday in Morocco we didn't know what to expect. It was a part of the world that we had never visited before and we went slightly unsure as to what to expect.

We were staying in Caribbean Village Agador at Agadir, and were a little worried by some of the negative reports we had read on Trip Adisor. But we always like to judge a place for ourselves so went along with an open mind.

The 'we' in question were my me, my husband and our 11 year old son - as anyone knows who takes away a child of this age, if they are happy so are you!!

When we got off our plane at Al Massira airport we were immediatly hit by the heat, certainly a lot different from the weather we had left behind in Manchester! We were quickly through custom control and on our coach to take us the 13 miles to our hotel.- it took around 30 minutes.

On reaching the hotel we were shown into reception - the decor was very much as I would have expected for a Moroccan hotel, and it was big and airy.After filling in our forms and receiving our wristbands we were taken to our room by a very pleasant porter.

Our room was on the ground floor overlooking the boulles playing area, it was basic but very clean and comfortable. We looked out over baeutiful gardens and had a pomegranite tree growing outside our patio windows.We had a very big double bed and a single and there was plenty of wardrobe space. The room was cleaned and the towels changed daily and the maid was lovely. If we returned to the room at any time when she was there she would talk pleasantly to us and ask how we were enjoying our holiday.

The complex is enormous, it contains 4 different pools, 6 a la carte restaurants, 3 plain restaurants, a gym, a sauna, bedouin tent serving mint tea and water pies, loads of sports facilities and more things like kayaks on the beach - all inclusive. The complex consists of lots of Morrocan style white houses where the rooms are situated. The surroundings and gardens are lovely and very well cared for - there was no litter and in such a hot, dry country it was strange to see the beautiful plants and shrubs watered well everyday The gardens really were a delight with palmtrees and so many other exoting plants, including oranges and pomegranites - there was even a little enclosure full of tortoise that you could go in and handle when you wanted.. In the garden the pool areas are set out - all with different landscapes around them.The complex has three entrances to the three parts of the hotel. The beach was a little difficult to get to as there is still a lot of work to do in Agadir ( remember it suffered a huge earthquake in 1960)The hotel has its own private beach where the all inclusive drinks keep flowing down there! you get free use of canoe's, pedloe's and the catamaran. You have to learn to say no thank you and walk away from the beggars and people selling things on the beach - but the beach is well patrolled by the local police.

When it comes to food you couldn't go wrong - or hungry!!
You can eat everyday in the different restaurant or in the main in the main restaurant. There is Morrocoan restaurant Medina, Sushi, Italian, Chinese and a Pizzeria and the waiters are FANTASTIC!! The night we got there and entered the huge main restaurant we were greeted by our waiter - who stayed with us for the week - he soon learned what we liked to drink and was really funny and helpful. We didn't have to endure any queues at meal times and there was so much choice there is no way you can try everything, we were there for two weeks and there were still things we didn't try.

Food is served virtually all day and you can eat as many times or as much as you want - you can even go and get a pizza at midnight... and all inclusive.. Breakfast wasfantastic you can get whatever you want, continental breakfast, english, american, etc - so much fresh fruits, yogurts, meats - unbelievable, but not to be missed were the incredible omelettes that the chef made for you to your own choice along with fried eggs, my son's favourites wefre the panckes and doughnuts which again were made in front of your eyes.

The Animation Team were incredible, young and energetic and they had the knack of getting you to join in. My husband and I arn't really the 'joining in type' but Smile, a lovely member of the team roped us in to the darts and came looking for us everyday!!,
My son thoroughly enjoyed the sports available, he had a private tennis lesson, played boules, football, crazy golf, basketball. volley ball etc - the highlight of his time was the 'World Cup' when children from different natiuons competed against each other. England and France ended up in the final - and to cut a long story short the result was nearly a diplomatic disaster. The English team decided they were 'robbed' when they were beaten and it ended up with the two teams running around shouting insults at each other in their own languages for a couple of days!!
There are LOADS of activities. The team were always trying to involve you in fun games by the pool or any of the many sporting activiies but where not pushy. They also put on shows at night in the indoor ampitheatre, not to mention the sun dance which they sang several times a day around the main pool.

There were stalls around the complex and also a weekly market where you were expected to barter but I would recommend the short walk to the local shops were the same items and more coiuld be purchased for much less money. Nut you do have to go and meet 'DelBoy' an arab selling herbs and spices and with the true gift of the gab, and you must also have a ride on the lovely camel that visits the hotel - quite a frightening experience getting off it!!

This was a fantastic holiday - it cost us less than £1500 for two weeks fully enclusive for the three of us and was well worth the money.

Summary: Overall a good budget holiday and I want to go back!!
