What a difference a year makes! I went to Caribe in May 2008 and cannot agree with very much of the above. I travelled with Thomas Cook and cannot really say much good about them either. We were met off the plane and told which coach to get on. The Rep then said she could not come with the coach and it was a case of if you see the name of where you're staying get off because the driver never said a word. If I hadn't have looked out the window at the right time then I would not have arrived there at all! Then the "Welcome meeting" scheduled to take place in reception at 3pm. By about 10 past someone said it was postponed until 4 and in another part of the hote. (Nice of someone to tell everyone waiting!) The reception is clean the rooms are adequate and depending on which cleaner you get clean. The bar prices were reasonable but the food whilst hot was certainly not good. I was surprised there were plenty of people who obviously go year after year and someone did say the food had gone off from last year. There was plenty of salad choice but the main courses left a lot to be desired. I was surprised that this was a 3 star hotel and having seen the last report note that it has only just been upgraded - probably a good two star but certainly not 3. The entertainment team tried their best to motivate people for the daytime activities but unless you are tied to the hotel with children then I would give evening entertainment a miss it is pitiful. Kids disco ok for them though. What I can agree with is that the resort of Es Cana is a pleasant place albeit a little remote. If you don't want to get 2 buses to Ibiza Town then get the ferry. There are ferries leaving regularly for various parts of Ibiza and daily one to Formentara. Ibiza is a pleasant island but Caribe hotel is somewhere I certainly wouldn't be going back to.
