Dishwater or British pride? (Carling Lager)

Advantages: Cheap.
Disadvantages: Weak watery taste.

I like beer, as do many of us, but after a recent holiday in Belgium I have come back a bit of a beer snob. The beer in Belgium (mainstream beer too) is wonderful, full of rich flavours and has a decent kick to it which is different to many mainstream beers found in the UK. I know you can get good Real Ales in the UK but I thought I would look at a selection of the more popular beers you can get easily throughout the UK starting with Carling. The tin of carling I have chilling in my fridge contains 440ml of 4% vol beer and cost me £1.09. The tin is black and white and boasts that Carling is made with British barley and has been for over 30 years, the beer is made from 100% British barley and that the beer offers a complete flavour and refreshment for all. Review of Carling Black Label Lager

Carling! MMMMMMMMMMM!

Advantages: It tastes great
Disadvantages: It gets you drunk

The official sponsor of The Leeds Festival 2007. The Carling story dates back to 1818 when Thomas Carling, a farmer in England's Yorkshire district, took his family to the rich farmlands of eastern Canada settling at what is now the city of London, Ontario. During his first year there Tom Carling cleared a small area. Then,in accordance with the custom of the day, he called on his neighbors to help at a "stumping bee", a cooperative effort in which each man brought his own oxen and tools and the land was cleared of tree stumps. All that these helpful neighbors asked was that they be refreshed and fed Thomas Carling's refreshment, a home-brewed ale, was of such quality that soon he was brewing it for other stumping bees. In time, it grew so popular that he abandoned farming for full-time brewing. The first Carling ...

Review of Carling Black Label Lager

Interactive Carling review

Advantages: very refreshing
Disadvantages: can be too good

Please join me right now for a refreshingly wet, cold, long, twangy (it's your first one of the day, and you haven't sneaked a quiet one already) pint of Carling. Now I perfer it in a Carling imprinted special pint glass, others who are a real lady perhaps little nervous may perfer a half glass which is not as special as the pint glass:) but does the trick all the same. Today, I've gone a little crazy and have bought you a pint out of my own "Carling p up the wall account". This is an interactive experience that could catch on. Ok, lets start... Hold your horses....Now observe the subject matter first. The colour is a yellow ochre and changes in darkness depending where you are. The smell has a slight sweet nectar scent that lingers around the subject and reacts seductively with your brain it tells me. "take me I'm yours ...
