General: Famous for being Monte Carlo of the East. All kinds of gambling can be found. Most famous for the Grand Prix Car Racing. Several new casino are opened, attracting more and more tourists. Geniune Portuguese cuisine can be found.
Culture: A fusion of East & West. One can find a Chinese temple is just a few steps away from a Catholic church.
Location: Macau is located in the Guangdong province, on the western bank of the Pearl River Delta. One can easily walk to Mainland China.

Advantages: Bahai, Carmelite, Cable-Car and more Disadvantages: Not terribly touristy (which could be an advantage), not all that much to see
...is mostly industrial. More recently, the most western part of Haifa (which is the part that faces the Mediterranean ocean) has introduced a slew of fancy hotels and a large shopping complex to boost the tourist and sea bathing crowds. There's a really nice beach-side area which you can walk along, and the beaches themselves are far cleaner and less crowded than in Tel Aviv. From the beach, there is a cable car that takes you all the way up to the top of the Carmel at the Stella Maris Church. This has been recently renovated so it's quite an attraction.
The lowest part of Haifa is known as 'the city'. Due to its business nature, there's not a whole lot one can do there, besides going to the new shopping and hotel area. However, when you enter Haifa from the south, and you wind your way around towards the port, at one point, you'll reach...

...Carmels a sweet little american village but thats about it! There is the 17 mile drive that gives some fantastic scenery and a chance to see some squirrelys and sealions which is very sweet. After that we went into the town to look around. It was fairly quite and very expensive. And we managed to get a parking ticket for parking on the the left side of the road because they drive on the right, or some similar pethertic reason. Apart from that it is a nice plave to visit on the way to San Francisco, but nothing worth staying for....

I actually bought this book a while ago as part of a buy 2 get the third free. I had fancied reading it for a while but I wasn't of the inclination to actually go out and pay full whack for it, so getting it free was great.
