Advantages: The Mezquita, the Jewish Quarter, the history Disadvantages: The heat
.50.
Of course, there is far more to Córdoba than just the Mezquita.
There's the fortress on the river, the ALCÁZAR DELOS REYES CRISTIANOS which was built in 1328 and from where Ferdinand and Isabella governed Castille during their preparation to reconquer Granada. This is where Columbus told Isabella of his plans of exploration - there's a statue depicting this momentous occasion. It's worth a visit if only for the beautiful gardens, but there are the remains of a Roman temple and some excellent examples of mosaics on show.
The opening hours are far too convoluted to list here, suffice to say, it's closed from 14.000-18.00 for the siesta and admission is ? 2.
Speaking of the river, there are some lovely walks alongside where you can see the remains of several old, Moorish mills, one of which used to pump water up to the gardens ...

Advantages: Fantastic Ski and snowboard school Disadvantages: Not great Apres ski
We stayed in Pas de la casa which is a 2 and a half hour transfer from Tolouse. It is not a pretty town, but has a lovely backdrop of the mountains. We stayed in self catering accomodation which was clean and basic. Food and drink in restaurants was not as cheap as advertised online (although drink in supermarkets is cheap, 1 litre of smirnoff vodka 7.40 euros which is £4!) The service was friendly and it helped we spoke french and spanish, but food was pretty poor and food came out at different times which is not good for a big group. I really enjoyed my two snowboarding lessons which are excellent and a must for all learners that go there. I went for the one on one lesson, you learn so much quicker that in a big group.Overall a great place to learn and go tax free shoppping, but definately a budget holiday resort. ...
Advantages: Plenty to see and do, great seafood Disadvantages: Gets terribly hot in summer, not cheap

THE ALCAZAR DELOS REYES CRISTIANOS (Palace of the Christian Kings)
The Alcazar was built in 1328 and its keys features of interest are the remains of the Arabian baths and a series of Roman mosaics. The Alcazar was used as the Royal Place until Granada came into use and was also the site for the first permanent tribunal of the Spanish Inquisition under Ferdinand and Isabella. Unfortunately, the Alcazar is one ...
