...This hotel in Brussels is situated about a five minute walk from the Grande Place where most of the restaurants, bars and souvenir shops are situated for tourists. The metro is just outside the door which means that you don't have to stay around the tourist area.Where the hotel is there are seven or eight restaurants - most of them selling seafood of some description - and of course ' moules et frites'. The hotel itself is part of a chain with hotels in France and London and other European cities. I went with a college group as part of a trip to the European Parliament Buildings and NATO so we had a reduced group booking which was very reasonable. Advantages: lovely food, polite staff, great swimming pool Disadvantages: no sea view, small television
.... There are plenty of lockers available and four showers for after your swimming (this was the ladies section, my husband said that the mens section was the same.) There is a big water slide that the kids love and it is always 27 degrees in the dome and there is a poolside snack bar called Cascades serving food and drinks all day.
We loved the pool especially that you could swim from inside to out. The bit with the "current" in was quite fun as well, although it was not switched on all the time. There are at least 2 lifeguards on duty all the time and the pool was generally open from 7.30am to 8pm which is good hours for a hotel. I belive the pool is also open to Jersey residents who pay a membership fee.
