Casino Yacht & Golf Club Hotel, Asuncion

Advantages: Beautiful resort hotel, great facilities!
Disadvantages: Not easy on the pocket!

...DISNEY'S YACHT CLUB The Yacht Club at Walt Disney World has to be my favourite hotel in all of the world (Disney World that it!) and as many Ciao-ers will know I have stayed in and reviewed a LOT of Disney Hotels! I love this hotel because the service is impeccable down to the staff who open and close the doors for you when you enter and exit the hotel. The staff are also dressed in a clean nautical theme and lobby is expertly themed with low ceilings, benches and port holes! Check-in is always fast and efficient and the concierge is knowledgeable and able to secure most dining and other activities that guests require. The communal areas are all beautiful with lots of great touches: kids love the large globe in the lobby and even the individual towels I the public rest rooms are a rare luxury in this day and age! Advantages: World-Class Facilities and Service
Disadvantages: Expensive (but worth it!)

...shake a stick at (The Wharf restaraunt being a particular favourite of ours). All of these restaurants can be booked via Jumeirah Beach reservations. We also ventured out of the hotel complex on a couple of nights to eat. The Dubai Creek Golf and Yacht club has an excellent seafood restaurant (Acquarium) with a floor to ceiling exotic fish tank which has to be seen to be belived. There is also a nice boardwalk-style outdoor dining area which is popular at lunctimes. The other restaurant we went out to was "The Alamo" (part of the Marine Beach resort, about 30 minutes in a taxi from the Jumeirah Beach) which does good Mexican-style food (and particularly nice Margaritas!) at reasonable prices (for Dubai) and is popular with families. Advantages: Situated near the promenade overlooking St Paul's Bay and Islands
Disadvantages: Bedrooms not as luxurious as reception. More fresh fruit needed.

...the views. Buses stop close by too, and the bus station is a few minutes walk uphill, from the hotel, where you can travel all over the island. Various shops, supermarkets, cafes are all within walking distance. There are 375 guest rooms, and 38 superior rooms, the majority have balconies or terraces. There is a Conference centre and Casino built in part of the hotel. The hotel is wheelchair friendly and has two specially adapted rooms for disabled guests, there were a few people on electric scooters or wheelchairs whilst we were there.
