Advantages: Attractive, picturesque, close to the city of Marseille and Aubagnia Disadvantages: It's a long long walk from the sea to the station, it's very touristy

Cassis is a short distance from Marseill, and the best way there is by bus. But you have to change at Aubagnia (It is well worth stopping there and having a look round). The bus is actually a fully air conditioned coach aptly called the Navette, meaning shuttle.
If you are staying in the provance region I strongly recommend paying a visit to Cassis. Because it is very beautiful. The water's lovely and warm and you can bathe. ... ...the Provencal Fiords situated between Cassis and Marseille. This is something that you shouldn't miss. There are lots of lovely little restaurants, and an artists market. There are lots of narrow streets and lovely buildings, some of them dating back to the 16th century.*
Really I could have done with two or three visits to really get the best of Cassis. But who knows. Maybe I'll go back there soon.
