Advantages: Clean, Good entertainment for the kids, good pool Disadvantages: up the hillside
...This was our third trip to Puerto Rico and the first time we had stayed on the hillside.
We stayed during the middle of October 2006
The Castillode Sol Apartments are very clean. We stayed in a one bedroomed apartment. The bedroom was a good size with two good sized wardrobes and a dressing table with a nice large mirror. As always, it was a twin bedded room so we just slid the beds together.
Our daughter slept on the sofa bed in the lounge area (bedding was left for us).
There was a hand towel and a bath towel for each of us which were changed every other day. bedding was changed once during the week we stayed. The maids cleaned 5-6 days per week.
The rooms are basic but more than adequate for our needs (somewhere to get changed and to sleep at night!) We did have a TV in the room which took Euro coins and even the smaller 10...

Advantages: Friendly Staff, Clean, Good Value Disadvantages: Basic, Distance from beach
...My partner and i recently stayed at the Castillo for a week after previously holidaying in Gran Canaria a few times. The hotel is situated in the resort of Puerto Rico, well known for being one the hottest resorts on the island due to it's southern location. We found the hotel to be better than expected, offering many services including a snack bar, laundry services and internet access. Access to the hotel was fine for the more mobile, however wheelchair users or single parents with a child in a buggy might struggle as the main entrance to the hotel is up a flight of steps. The room though...

Advantages: Reasonably priced, hot, fun Disadvantages: Becoming quite commercialised

I was a little wary at first, mainly because my Spanish isn't very good, but I very quickly fell in love with the place. With a long promenade lined with palm trees and beautiful, long, golden beaches, what wasn't to like?
ACCOMMODATION:
As I previously mentioned, I was a rep on a camp site. This was called Camp Sanguli, situated at the older end of Salou which is a little quieter than the new town. The site itself is large with two supermarkets, two large pools, numerous take-aways, bars and restaurants plus good security. The site itself has numerous areas used specifically by certain companies providing package holidays - for example, Siesta...

I went to salou way back in 2006 but i remeber my vist very well. The hotel was presented well, cleaniness is key in my eyes and the rooms were cleaned daily with new sheets and towels. The hotel is in a prime position for the beach or fuetaventura theme more
