Advantages: Cheap, Hot, Port Adventura, Short transfer Disadvantages: Commercialised, Bit rowdy in places
...the sun goes down because they emit a coulured lightshow. A permanent funfair lies in the old town and goes on right into the early hours.
¬Restaurants, nightlife and shopping¬
Catalunya in general is famous for it's fish dishes and it's Paella. Cambrils a town just to the south of Salou is home to some marvellous fish restaurants if your a food connoisseur! Salou itself has a wide variety of restaurants catering for all palettes and wallets. The main shopping area lies in the new town and the main street comes alive in the late evening complete with it's overhead lighting. Do remember that Spain does have a siesta in the afternoon and that the place does go quiet in the early afternoon. The clubs and bars mostly lie in the new town in and around the shopping area and most of them are free to get in due to the high level of competition...

Advantages: A great place for most... Disadvantages: Not all year round
...Salou is hardly a destination that could be classed as paradisiacal. Situated in the Costa Dorada, Salou is a very well established tourist centre that caters for all ages and tastes.

---------------The Hotel----------------
Last summer, I went to Salou and stayed at the Hotel Port Salou, the hotel was excellent! The rooms were spacious with a good size bathroom and Satelitte T.V. There was also a huge wardrobe (to put all my clubbing gear in!) Every room has a balcony, but most of them are fairly small, except for the toop floor, where the balconys are almost the same size as the room! The service was excellent and the bar staff (Jose springs to mind!), where friendly and talkative, even though there English was a bit rusty! The hotel was in a fairly quiet area of Salou, the only noise around was when...

I went to salou way back in 2006 but i remeber my vist very well. The hotel was presented well, cleaniness is key in my eyes and the rooms were cleaned daily with new sheets and towels. The hotel is in a prime position for the beach or fuetaventura theme more
