Cathay Pacific in short is one of the best airline companies in the world, and that concludes my opinion. NOT, I could go on all day about how excellent Cathay Pacific is.
Cathay Pacific is an Asian airline company based in Hong Kong where they have a vast headquarter site where they research and run the company. They have a major presence in most major airports such as Heathrow because of Hong Kong being a huge import and export city whcih also means many people travel there. However they also have flights to many different asian locations such as Japan, Korea amongst many others.
The reason I choose Cathay Pacific is because of its outstanding track record and customer service. I don't think I have ever once been delayed by a fault occuring through Cathays fault.
There check in staff are very helpful and can sort out any problems or queries you may have, once when my flight couldn't take off because of storms in Hong Kong they even provided vouchers to enjoy the food of our choice at various cafes.
Also unlike other airlines namely British Airways, Cathay have always delivered my luggage on the flight that I was ACTUALLY ON! With British Airways they had the cheek to delay my bag without my knowledge! I was not best pleased with this as you would imagine.
One of Cathays main famous areas is its friendly air staff, many are mainly young asian women of different origins such as Chinese and Japanese because of Cathays wide Asian appeal, this is necessary as many flights I have been on have contained many mixed asian cultures.
The in flight food is very different from others as well as they serve chinese food, although english varieties are offered. They offer Chinese cuisines such as Dim Sum and Noodles.
The in flight entertainment is very good, every seat has a built in entertainment screen with a keypad on the armrest. The screen has many functions such as Movies, flight info, radio and games. The movies that are palyed are usually recent Chinese and English box office titles, theres even a discovery channel! The flight info includes such facts as speed, distance travelled, time left and a useful map. There are about 20 radio channels so theres something for everyone. The games are ok, a bit like the games on Sky Digital, very simplistic.
Seats are very comfy with enough leg room to stop you from becoming a crashed sardine. Have a browse through the duty free shoppingmagazine as your sure to find some bargains in there. The Cathay magazine is very informative also.
Next time you travel to an Asian destination its worth asking if Cathay Pacific is available as an option.

Advantages: Great service, excellent on-board entertainment, and very efficient in all ways!. Disadvantages: Maybe slightly overpriced but competes well against British Airways long haul flights!.
Advantages: The are possibly the best airline avaliable and everything is excellent Disadvantages: I must admit they do cost a little more than most airlines
