The Duomo cathedral in the centre of Milan is by far one of the most interesting and predominant landmarks of the city. i remember going there for the first time when i was 10 years old and not really bieng interested in it. I came back to it in augost 2004 when i was 13 and bieng more interested in it than 3 years before. as soon as you go in you are greeted with the smell of incence and old wood.
The Duomo has also some of the most wonderful stained glass windows that i have seen in any cathedral as well as some paintings by Leonardo da Vinci. however, i don't suggest going there if you are taking the kids because it is almost certain that they will run riot. If you ever find yourself in milan then i suggest taking a look at this fine piece of art. The cathedral is easily accesible because of all the trams that drop you off right in front of it.
