HAVE YOU GOT THE APPETITE OF A GIANT???

Advantages: Beautiful Scenic setting
Disadvantages: No childrens facilities

We have visited the Antrim Coastal area in the past and have lunched at The Causeway Hotel, which is just outside the small town of Bushmills. We thought the hotel setting was spectacular and as we enjoyed our lunch, we promised ourselves that we'd return some time and stay here. We were visiting relatives in Northern Ireland in April 2003 and as it was our wedding anniversary while we were there, we decided to treat ourselves to a two night break to coincide with our actual anniversary date. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ SITUATION The Causeway Hotel, Bushmills, Northern Ireland, as its name probably suggests, is situated on the cliff top above The Giant's Causeway. The small town of Bushmills is about a five minute drive from the hotel and yes, for the whiskey lovers amongst us, you can tour the distillery. It's only about ...

Not Craps Causeway...at all!

Advantages: huge, many shops...awesome building!
Disadvantages: can get VERY busy!

CRIBBS CAUSEWAY ----------------------------- Last week I was sat at home feeling a little bored and wondering what to do at the weekend. My partner suggested a visit to The Mall @ Cribbs Causeway. It was such a surprise as my other half hates shopping but he was suddenly keen to drive for three hours up to Bristol. I soon realised the next day that this could have had something to do with the fact Katie Price aka Jordan was visiting to sign her new fragrance. Although the South West have been blessed in recent years with two major shopping centres we still feel a little deprived compared to London, Manchester, Birmingham and Newcastle etc. The Princess Hay in Exeter and the Drake Circus in Plymouth are all lovely shopping centres but do not provide the same sort of experience as shopping at the Mall @ Cribbs Causeway. GETTING ...

Give Castle Lodge the Dodge

Advantages: A historical building
Disadvantages: disappointing and spoilt by the owners

CASTLE LODGE It was a family day out in Ludlow and whilst I was sitting resting on the bench, waiting for my hubby to return from checking the car and the parking fees, I noticed this really old Tudor style house opposite and on closer inspection discovered that it was open to the public. We didn?t go in straight away, but I did drop a big hint like, ?I want to go in there before we go home? to the family, so that they would not be surprised after the visit to the castle that we went in here. After we had a lovely lunch in the café situated next door to the lodge after a amazing trip around the castle. We were all in high spirits and enjoying our food and refreshments, I dropped the bombshell that I wanted to see the house, they did try to dissuade me as they were now getting slightly tired and wanted to do a little retail ...
