Advantages: a large variety of destinations to choose from Disadvantages: get booked up quickly as so popular
...Hilton hotels are fantastic. There's no one way to describe them as there are hundreds of them and all uniquely different. I first went to stay at one about 4 years ago.
In 2000 i became an employee of Livingwell Health clubs - which is part of the the Hilton Group. I had never before even considered going to stay at a hilton hotel as i always thought they were much too expensive. But it was when i joined that i found out that some, yes, were a bit pricey, but that others were actually very reasonable. I did actually get a 15% discount because i was an employee, but i would have definately started staying at them even without this.
There are, as i said earlier, many countries that are home to hilton hotels; Dubai, Malta, Rome to name but a few. And of course good ol' England. And are all set in either beautiful locations...

Advantages: Beautiful surroundings, outstanding food Disadvantages: Key system needs a bit of work
...When I went to Rome in July 2000 I spent 3 nights in the RomeHilton. What can I say, I don't think the hotel could have been any nicer. Situated about 1 15 minute taxi ride from the main part of Rome, the hotel has beatiful grounds surrounding it, a fantastic outdoor swimming pool, a beautiful indoor heated pool, numerous gyms and plenty of places to grab a snack or a full 7 course meal. The food was the best I've ever tasted, although pricey, it was outstanding. Everything from a small roast beef sandwich in the lobby bar to scorpion fish spaghetti on the roof top restaurant over looking the Vatican. The only down side I would say to the hotel is the lift system, If you are staying on one of the higher floors, you need a key to be able to get up that high on the lift. If you have left the key with someone in the room then you...

Advantages: comfortable, beach location, better value than newer 5 star hotels, good customer service. Disadvantages: overshadowed by construction of taller buildings behind the Hilton - pool area is partly shaded
...A lot can happen in a space of a few years but never more so than in Dubai; it's currently a massive construction site but in the nicest sort of way! The last time I visited Dubai in 2002, I stayed at Oasis Beach Hotel in Jumeirah. At that time the Oasis Beach hotel was the last hotel on the beach strip apart from the Hilton Hotel; the surrounding land was just barren desert. However, after my present visit in 2006 I was surprised to see there were about 200 buildings being constructed behind the Hilton Hotel! If you've read this far and are thinking it's a big no, no you'll be surprised at how much the construction doesn't really bother you.
As soon as you catch a glimpse of the white sandy beaches against the clear blue skies and hear the sound of the sea as the waves come in…you soon forget the construction, believe me you do...

Just over a week ago I was visiting London. As usual, I tend to look for hotel deals a little out of the centre of town as it usually works out much cheaper even when you've factored in the public transport costs (I don't drive.) I am a member of the... more
