Bright and breezy atmosphere with white walls and floors, a well-stocked bookshelf, free pool table, poker chips!

Advantages: Free pool table, quality menu, relaxing atmosphere, quality food, mad cook. Disadvantages: A bit loud, giving meat dish instead of vegetarian, mad cook.

I would happily go again, just a couple of things that make it fall short of top marks.
At the moderately busy ... ...when lots of flat surfaces bounce sound without absorbing it. Plus they are a bit too proud of their albeit good musical taste, the volume of the music is slightly high.
We asked for a vegetarian dish amongst our other orders, this was ignored and we were given the meat version. Also, some of us waited ages for our dish and felt the need to remind the cook about our order. He proceeded to say something about how we were freaking him ... more

It didn't seem overcooked by the time it got to us.
Advantages: Quiet (in terms of noise), but not dull. Disadvantages: Beer is a little expensive.
Considering how close this pub is to the noisy Queens Road, it is very quiet, even when you are in the beer garden. It one of the only pubs so close to the centre of Brighton where you can have a decent conversation, even on a Friday night. Even though it gets fairly busy, there is no loud music to make conversation difficult.
Personally I like to have a few pints there before hitting the town properly. They do a good pint of Harveys (local bitter) ...
