A 45 minute boat ride took us away from the hustle and bustle of the small port in Belize City, and out to the idyllic island/islands of Caye Caulker.

We stayed at the Rainbow Hotel, which provides rooms that all have a sea view. In fact you didn't even have to get out of bed to watch the sun rise!

Highly recommended is a snorkelling trip out to the reef, a conservation area that offers a huge range of marine life. Our snorkel guide, Carlos, took us out to 3 different spots to enjoy the corals and fish. . Frankly I think we were just so tired after the wedding and the flying that we were too exhausted to take it all in.
We ordered room service and then by about 3pm local time we were sound asleep!
Day 2 - Belize City and CayeCaulker

We awoke at 4am Belize time to a phone call from OHs parents saying they'd cancelled the phone so there was no need to worry. Thanks for that parents?.in fairness we were pretty much awake anyway after the very long sleep.
We managed to wait in our room until we knew breakfast started, and then at 6.30 we decided to venture out. The breakfast room is a large airy space on the 2nd floor, with big glass windows again over looking the ocean. Although we were so early there was already some other people in the restaurant eating.
