Portofinos - a must sea!
Advantages: Great food - value for money Disadvantages: Remote location
Portofino's is one of the few restaurants left in the east end of Grand Cayman. For those of you who don't know, Cayman Islands were hit hard by Hurricane Ivan 12 September 2004. Much of the island is still being rebuilt and much of it has been sadly abandoned.
The East End of Grand Cayman is the remote side away from the tourists and away from the cruise ships! If you don't mind remote than this is the place to be. There are only about 3 restaurants ... ...are not really spoilt for choice….Portofino;s specialty (like most Cayman places) is jerk chicken. You can get a fantastic jerk chicken sandwich for lunch and with fries and sauce and it will cost less than 10 USD - those of you who have been to Cayman will think wow what a deal - those of you who haven't will think ---How Much???? But a lunch for under 20 USD in a restaurant is a real steal. The chicken is really tender and they got the spices in ...
