I haven't been to Center Parcs in years and i'd only been to the Sherwood Forest one but this summer my family and I decided to give this one a go. it's set in the north of the lake district so as you can imagine it is a beautiful setting.
The accommodation isn't exactly five star luxury but that is not what you expect from this holiday. This is a fast-paced, action packed holiday. The accommodation is fairly basic, the'villas' don't look appealing from the outside but inside they are clean and comfortable and have everything you need. You can pay extra to have the few luxuries such as the towels to be included and have a tv in the bedroom as well as lounge.
The outside area of the villa has a little BBQ area and table and chairs which is a nice feature as well as your little bike rack for all your bikes.
The activities you can vary immensly and you can book online before you even arrive so to be sure to g et your things booked!
The activities include: pool squash badminton archery horse riding music making teddy bear making golf shooting
and many, many more. You can literally do anything and everything it's amazing!
In the pool paradise it is almost like being abroad with lots of seating areas around the pool and a bar which serves alcohol all day long as well as fast food goodness! There are rapids and slides and a dingy ride all of which are free. There is a section for pampering yourself which is not free and the things have to be booked, these include massages, steam rooms, saunas and other beauty treatments.
The booking system was fairly straight forward. Each section has a booking point and it was really easy to book and usually the times we wanted were available which suprised me as it was very busy!
The price was pretty expensive, the holiday itself cost a lot and then having to pay for each activity on top was rather dear but it was worth it as it was all very smooth running and fun.
The whole experience was fun and the evenings saw us going to the different restaurants on site which cater for everyone. There is also a supermarket and the ability to request take aways which is great!
The staff are all very polite. The checking in staff were extremely helpful and provided us with lots of information and teh staff on each facility are very helpful too. Eveyrone is friendly and I was made to feel so welcome.
I will definitely recommend this holiday. Yes it's expensive but you find yourself doing things you would never normally get round to do. This is a great holiday indeed!
