New York City's Best Kept Secret

Advantages: Small, Cheap, Quick to get around and beautiful animals
Disadvantages: Some animals looked way too hot in the heat we had. Wasn't sure if it was cruel or not?

With the New York Pass we had the option of visiting two zoos, either the Bronx Zoo or Central Park Zoo. Well Central Park is only about a 20 minute walk from our hotel, so we decided it was probably better to go to this one rather than Bronx Zoo. After a very long day in the 90 degree heat, we finally arrived at the zoo, got our tickets and went straight into the zoo. The first obstacle you?ll face is the photographers, attempting to get more money out of you in the end; we declined as we all looked like utter crap due to the heat. We immediately found a little bit of shelter in the form of this huge gazebo situated in the main part of the zoo, we sat here for a while before going to look at the rest of the zoo. The perfect location in New York

Advantages: Brilliant location, modern, big room, huge TV, one of the cheapest hotels
Disadvantages: Breakfast is expensive, toilet blocked a couple of times, not enough lifts

The Park Central Hotel New York is in a brilliant location on 56th and 7th right in the centre of everything. A 10 minute walk downtown brings you to Times Square, 2 blocks uptown takes you to Central Park, 5th Avenue shopping is just 1 or 2 blocks to the east and a subway station 20 seconds away to take you to wherever else you want to go. Carnegie Hall is directly opposite and the Rockefeller Centre is less than 10 minutes away. The hotel is surrounded by gift shops and cafes and there's a nice little Irish bar just opposite. The location really couldn't get any better. When we first arrived it was difficult for us for find but that was only because we didn't have a map with us and because the grid system is so confusing at first. Park Central Hotel

Advantages: Superb location, comfortable accomodation, helpful staff
Disadvantages: No major disadvantages to the actual hotel itself

In "the city that never sleeps," especially if you're visiting for the first time, it's all about site-seeing, shopping, and taking advantage of New York's endless amount of restuarants. So when choosing a hotel, it's all about location! I took my first ever visit to New York (and certainly not my last, taking into consideration the amazing time I had there) in February 2007, for a school trip, and stayed in Park Central Hotel. FIRST IMPRESSIONS I was delighted when we first arrived at the Park Central hotel - the immaculate lobby and reception area, with brown leather sofas and sparkling floor tiles, was classy and modern.
