Advantages: many stores and attactions Disadvantages: confusing
...New York is a city of business. But it's also a city of tourism and
culture with it's great museums and attractions. Everybody should go
tere and try out the New York subway. The amount of different people
and places are amazing. Centralpark is a must. They have the cleanest
park I have ever seen and have these floral arrangements that are
fabulous. But you can't forget about shopping, it's just too hard, there's too many stores to choose from. Overall, New Yorkcity
is fantastic to visit but personnally, I find it too confusing to live
in....

Advantages: great central getaway Disadvantages: v busy
...CentralPark - known all around the world. So when I got to Manhatten - decided to hit the shops and when all the shops had been shopped at. I decided to see what all the fuss was about! CentralPark is massive as you'd expect from anything in NewYork. But it has an atmosphere. Its not dissimilar from Hyde Park in that it attracts all types. YOu get there and you can choose to do whatever go for a stroll, hire rollerblades, simply take in the people and scenery or watch the local baseball teams. On my trip to New York I was able to frequent CentralPark a few times and each time i went I discovered something new. IT was a great getaway. When you get walk away form the perimeter of the park yolu almost forget that you are in the big apple and just let time pass. Its fantastically relaxing and much needed in a city like NewYork!...

Advantages: Everything. Disadvantages: Some rough areas
...The world famous skyline of New York is always shown on television- especially on Friends and Die Hard with a Vengance.
Normally the city looks more glamerous on the big screen yet New York is a beautiful city.
The shopping is out of this world and even men can shop till they drop. There are huge department stores like: Sears and Bloomingdales, and even the largest Nike store in the World. The Americas really do know how to eat- there are thousands of places to eat at ranging from hot dog stands to fine dining.
Not forgetting all the sights like the Statue of Liberty and CentralPark. If you are lucky you will also see a few celebs around the city!
I highly recommend NewYork- especially around Christmas time as the decorations are fantastic!...

The New Yorker is in an excellent midtown location with the subway (lines A, C & E) literally steps outside. Being on the corner of 8th Avenue and 34th Street this meant good access to Macy's, Empire State Building, Madison Square Gardens and the... more
Postmodernism, eh? It's a funny old bag of fish. Even the holier-than-thou critics don't quite seem to know what it's all about. They argue whether it's
a) a revolt against modernism,
b) a progression of modernism,
c) both of these and more
or d) more
