Advantages: Beautiful scenery, lovely people, charming cities, cheap and safe Disadvantages: Breathing at altitude!
...,000m to Sucre at 2,300m causes an oxygen rush which heightens the experience of entering the clean, white, peaceful city. We spent a wonderful 10 days in Sucre and wished we could have stayed longer. We studied Spanish for a week at the excellent Bolivian Language School, near Parque Bolivar. Bolivia is a great place to study Spanish as people speak more slowly and clearly than in some other South American countries (especially Argentina!). Lessons are also very cheap. There are several other Spanish schools in Sucre and I would thoroughly recommend it as a place to study. Sucre is a small, university city with lots of young people and a good selection of restaurants and bars so there is plenty to do after a hard days studying!
Potosi is also a fascinating city. The highest city in the world is overlooked by CerroRico - a mountain...

Bewitched by an Icy Giant! Review ofPerito Moreno Glacier, El Calafate, Province of Santa Cruz, Patagoniaby

Advantages: A Unique Experience Disadvantages: None
...(Iceberg Channel) and its constant advance ravaged many of the local forests when it crawled over solid ground on the edge of the Península de los Magallanes (Magellan's Peninsula). Its constant expansion has throughout the years cut off the natural drainage of the southern side of Lago Argentino (Lake Argentino), known as Brazo Rico (Rico Arm), virtually turning into a natural dam and causing the water level to rise by up to 25 metres (it is currently predicted that the next water rise will reach 30 metres). The pressure caused by the trapped mass of water eventually becomes untenable for the glacier (or rather, the melting ice below it), and as the water filters through the ice, causing fractures and hollowing it out, inevitably, the dam collapses in a spectacular detonation of water and ice. Unfortunately, it is not always possible...

Advantages: Great weather, reasonable prices, relaxing Disadvantages: No 'proper' shops
...I have just returned from an absolutely fantastic holiday in Puerto Rico, Gran Canaria. I would recommend to anyone who wanted a relaxing holiday away.
The four hour flight with Spanair was pleasant with a meal and film. Staff were friendly.
The island is small and so the transfers are reasonably quick to all the hotels.
We stayed in the Porlomar Apartments, 2 star, but probably better than anywhere more expensive. A lovely pool, the staff were great, and the rooms were basic but extremely clean with a cleaner EVERY day! They are on a hillside looking over the harbour which is lovely. A reasonable bar and food prices.
Everywhere in the town has reasonable cheap drink and food prices, and the beach is lovely although during the day is known as 'sardine beach' due to the masses of people.
It is so hot so make sure you take plenty...
