Chabad of Wall Street Festival

Advantages: The Center of the financial world- very obviously
Disadvantages: not much is open in the evenings or weekends

...Just over a year ago, I had to spend a month and a half working in the New York area. For a few weeks out of that period, I stayed at an apartment on Broad Street, which is very close to Wall Street. I worked in Jersey City, which is just over the river from the financial district of New York. In order to get there, I had to walk to the (now sadly defunct) World Trade Centre and take the "Path" train. I would leave at approximately 8 o'clock in the morning and every morning my walk to the World Trade Center was quite an experience. Walking toward me were thousands, if not tens of thousands of well-dressed women and men heading towards their jobs in Wall Street or in the vicinity. It was quite dangerous, actually, and the only time I could let down my guard was when I stopped at one of those coffee and Bagel trollies... Read review

Advantages: Lots to choose from, some superb theatre and comedy, chance to meet the great and the good!
Disadvantages: Sometimes too much to choose from, can be quite pricey, accommodation is hard to find.

...Festival - and, boy, I liked it! A little back story: I graduated from LIPA (read my op to find out more!) in Liverpool last year with a 2.1 in Acting (applause, applause!). Whilst there, I did the usual uni things - drinking, partying, wild nights out, a little bit of work when neccessary, and the traditional 'meeting friends I'll have for ever, no, I really mean it, I know I said that about people I was at college with, but this time I'm sure'. Well, I'm bound to that, because not only did we share drunken declarations of undying matedom, but six of us actually set up a theatre company together. At first it was just a way of ensuring that we had work after leaving uni, but then our little group decided to go for the big one - the Ed Fringe. Advantages: entertainment & education
Disadvantages: not too many cheap places to stay but youth hostel and the camp

...Festival in the town of Pula [in Croatia ex Yugoslavia], was founded by the group of Croatian theatre enthusiasts, directors of the best independent Croatian theatres: INAT Theatre from Pula, Lero Theatre from Dubrovnik, Daska Theatre from Sisak and PINKLEC Theatre from Chakovec. This festival has the significance of one respectful international festival, and is listed in the international publications of the world’s theatre festivals. Theatres performing on this festival are out of any institutions in Europe and world. The place of the performing arts are mainly streets of this beautiful little town, the specific locations, former army barracks, old ruined buildings, squares, theatres etc…The festival is the place where you can sit back with bottle of beer, with some crazy hip chick and relax.
