This is a great 4 star hotel in the centre of interlaken, close to all public transport including the 2 rail stations. Rail and bus travel is cheap in Switzerland.
It is close to the centre of interlaken and has amazing views of the Jungfrau.
It has a great restaurant and bar in the hotel as well as lovely gardens.
This is a family friendly hotel with good disabled facilities.
The staff offer excellent customer service and they speak french, english and german so helpful to all visitors.
The hotel is central to tourist attractions in the area including the Jungfrau where you have to get a train too as well as the area where there is edelweiss flowers close by.
The town has excellent facilities eg swimming.

- Interlaken West and Interlaken Ost. Trains from Geneva or Montreux stop at Interlaken West before arriving at Interlaken Ost and trains to Luzern from Interlaken Ost. It takes only 3 minutes to travel by train from Interlaken West to Interlaken Ost and swiss trains are so efficient you needn't worry about changing platforms that are too far apart. Hotel Rugenpark is only 3 minutes walk away from Interlaken West. I would say staying near Interlaken West is better than Interlaken Ost because there are more shops surrounding the west station and the tourist information centre is also near the west station. To find the hotel, turn left when you exit the train station, walk straight ahead for 3 minutes and you will find the hotel on your left.

My partner and I stayed in this hotel last year (07) for a couple of nights. We opted for the executive room and didn't relly notice anything executive about it. The bathroom was basic and had a leaky shower and mould on the wall. The floor in the room didn't reach the end wall/ window so you could see through the floor. The room had a really strong smell of smoke. The a/c was very noisy, making it difficult to get to sleep.
Breakfast was not a very pleasant experience. The choice of food mainly catered to those who could stomach Thai food and the fruit had flies on it.
The swimming pool was too cold to swim in.
The only plus for this hotel was its location, a few minutes walk from Nana skytrain station. Close to other hotels such as the Ambassador and The Landmark. ...
