...We stayed at the ChancellorHotel by accident! We had hotel vouchers for our visit to San Francisco but the hotel we stayed in on our first night was so awful (and in one of the more dangerous areas of the city - we heard that the street on which it was situated had the highest murder rate in San Francisco!) that we decided to ring San Francisco Reservations, a hotel broker mentioned in our guide book. Hotel brokers basically rent out hotel rooms at short notice at lower than advertised prices. That is how we were able to stay in the Chancellor, which is a 3 star hotel, for $50 per night! According to the hotel's website, special room rates start at $125 per night, so we definitely got a good deal by going through San Francisco Reservations!
The ChancellorHotel is right on Union Square in the centre of San Francisco and is convenient...

Advantages: large selection of conference rooms for businesses Disadvantages: no entertainment for those not in a conference,
...I stayed at the Ramada Hotel and Conference Center, Edmonton, for 18 days in October. The stay was not a comfortable one. The check in counter was lined up upon arrival, and always appears to be lined up. The Elevators are ODD. You never know what will happen when you get in one when it finally shows up at your floor. The beds are hard. I was put on a waiting list for a fridge and in the 18 days never received a fridge. The wireless internet was unstable, sometimes allowing me to hook up, sometimes shutting down in the middle of an email. It advertised as wireless but I had to use the cable the majority of the time. There is only two washers and two dryers (that take up to two hours to dry one load), which seems inadequate for the number of rooms in the hotel. The staff at the front desk and the restaurant are somewhat unprofessional...

Advantages: Clean, comfortable, good food, handy for the hospital Disadvantages: We had one or two problems - see review
...on this as we didn't take advantage of this facility preferring to walk into Manchester (about 10 minutes walk) to get our breakfast.
Meals are also served in the bar at lunchtime and in the evening. The choice is quite limited but the food was very good and cooked to order. This meant a bit of a wait but you then get a good hot meal. The costs ranged from about £6 - £10 for a single course.
The bar is a reasonable size and opens out into a courtyard set in the centre of the building. It was lovely and airy with the doors wide open - I did suggest sleeping down there! When in the courtyard it looks as though only the front of the building is the hotel and the other three sides are student accommodation.
There are also a couple of conference rooms which were in use most of the time we were there.
There is wireless internet access in all...
