A Han-dy Choice for Chinese

Advantages: Great food, fair prices, good service
Disadvantages: Nothing I can think of

I'm sure everyone - well everyone who likes Chinese - probably has a favourite Chinese restaurant that they keep returning to. For the area where we live - between Northampton and Market Harborough - the Han is our Chinese of choice. It's located in the small Leicestershire market town of Market Harborough and you can find it on St Mary's Road. For those who know the town, it's the road which runs from the Market Square towards the railway station. With the Square behind you, pass the new Starbucks on the left hand side and it's just a hundred meters or so further along. From the outside your first instincts might be that it doesn't look that much like a restaurant. This is because the Han is on two levels and you will only be able to see the downstairs reception area. Here there are sofas and coffee tables where people usually wait ...

New Dhaka Daze

Advantages: Convenient if you happen to work there.
Disadvantages: Er, there's just not much there.

is not Asia's nightlife capital. At the north and south extremes of Gulshan, there are markets which are good for fabrics, vegetables, meat, and stationery. But, you'd hardly to go Dhaka just to buy those. There are also a few restaurants here - things change rapidly so I'm reluctant to give names, but you can generally find good Indian, Thai, Korean and Chinese eating places. The price, relatively speaking, is usually very cheap. There are also a couple of western-style, oft frequented by some foreigners, but I personally didn't like the food there. Finally, in New Dhaka, there's Banani. There are houses, shops and a couple of restaurants there. That's it. There's nothing else to say about Banani - oh yes there's a bank there. It would take much more time to describe Bangladesh, or even Dhaka, properly but here are a few more ...

Review of Dhaka (Bangladesh)

Harvester Restaurants

Advantages: Always one close by, quick turn out, children are welcome and catered for.
Disadvantages: Toilets can be quite disturbing, not all dishes taste as good they are described.

counted 6 the last time I chose this. Chinese Platter - Crispy king prawn crackers, duck and veggie spring rolls and chicken wantons, enough for one person but they do pass it off as for two to share. The spring rolls are quite small, but with a crisp outer shell and succulent vegetables they are extremely Moorish. Harvest Festival - for 2 to share. BBQ chicken wings, chicken fillets, breaded mushrooms, corn on the cob and soggy onion rings. Served with the harvester sour cream & chives dip and BBQ sauce. Main Menu: If you eat during the week before 6.30pm, including lunch times, it's known as the early bird. The restaurant is usually quieter and the food prices are considerably less, up to a third off each dish. Remember that on Saturday this offer is only valid until 5 pm. Early bird menu prices range from £4 to under ...
