We stayed at the Charlecote Pheasant for Valantines weekend. Our room was in the new part of the hotel and although large, lacked the character we were expecting from a hotel of this kind.
Our package included Valantines dinner which we couldn't fault. The meal was lovely - as was breakfast. Lots of choice of cereals, fruit juices, fresh fruit and hot selection. The disappointment came when we paid the bill - unbeknown to us it was ... ...to a hotel where the bar prices are so high. I don't mind paying £30 for a good bottle of wine but this was bog standard house white (and not a particually good one at that). This really tainted our weekend as I felt completely ripped off.
It is a real shame that certain aspects of the hotel are lacking and if they corrected these i'm sure they would get many more repeat bookings.
