Chrome Glass Bouncers and Beer

Advantages: Godd location and good service and a pleasant atmosphere as well as being trendy
Disadvantages: Some uncomforable seats

Chase is situated on Newcastle's Quayside at the foot of the Tyne Bridge on the north side of the Tyne.

Although I don't frequent it all that often , every time I go there it is always a pleasant experience. The building itself is all glass and chrome with a vaguely nautical feel (port holes in the loos and fish tanks dotted about the place). The ceilings are very high and the air conditioning is excellent so you're never ...
...very pleasant.

Chase also serve bar meals , although these are expensive for what you get, but are always reasonable fast and extremely appetising.

Although the place is aimed at the Quayside / Bigg Market reasonably affluent clientele, this is without doubt one of the better pubs on the Quayside , and is well worth a visit if you are that way inclined. It is also close to several restaurants (Uno's, Sabatini's, Sachin's) ... more

Kiss Chase

Advantages: Great central location
Disadvantages: can get a bit packed at times

Chase is one of the most popular, trendiest bars on Newcastle's Quayside. It's glowing neon frontage kind of lures you in. There is nearly always a queue for this bar, but don't be alarmed! There are always more people inside the bar than outside of the bar ;-) - This place is always buzzing.(Sometimes I do wonder if they break health & safety regulations by allowing too many people in - last time I was in I was kind of body surfed to the bar, up ...
...bottle of their own liquid, Chase whilst you're in here, just because you can (a slightly cheaper option than drinking brand alcopops). If you want proof that Newcastle is well on its way to becoming the next cosmopolitan hang out then take a trip to Chase. The clientel are a fashion conscious, trendy bunch, echoed by the sleek decor. Worth a visit as its one of the best bars on the Quayside. ...

Worth it on payday.

Advantages: Good crowd, ok music.
Disadvantages: Pricey, can take a while to get in on bank holidays, later in the night, etc.

Situated under the Tyne bridge on the Newcastle side of the Quayside, Chase's neon lit windows will probably be the first thing to catch you eye. Either that or the queue outside. It's a bar attempting to appeal to the more upmarket clientel, and I'm sure it works, but they also get eh wannabes in there as well. But if you ignore them and have elbows of steel to push your way through the crowd, then this is a good place. Even the glass collecters ...
...seats is a bit of a shock at first (especially if you're drunk), and it's worth going in if just to have a look. It's a bit pricey, but may turn out to be worth it if you're on the pull for a rich bloke. However, beware! If you're a hardened Quaysider then take note - you sometimes get people from the Bigg Market wandering down and coming in because it looks pretty. Check they're not wearing gold sovereign rings before offering to buy them a drink. ...

Party city

Advantages: Good shops and pubs
Disadvantages: Pubs can be a bit expensive and the lack of decent clubs

I went to the University of Northumbria for 3 years, and although I have been left a while I still go back for shopping and a night out on a regular basis. The nightlife is good, but maybe Im a bit biased as I met my Husband there! There are plenty of shops both in the centre of Newcastle and also the nearby Metro Centre. Once the sun goes down there are three main areas for pubs - the Haymarket which is near the Universities, so fairly studenty (check out Cafe Pacific for super cocktails and food - less studenty on a weekend), the Bigg Market for real party animals and the Quayside for the more sophisticated! My favourite pubs on the Quayside are Offshore and Chase. Also, check out the Piano and Pitcher which is a bit of a walk from where the main pubs are. Newcastle has quite a few nightclubs, but none are particularly fantastic ...

GNER comprehensive

Advantages: They do get there - eventually
Disadvantages: Terrible customer relations, don't trust them to book your seat, look after you when things go wrong, be at all sympathetic

original ticket. This costs £100, as I mentioned I'm a student with a disabled mother and she's just been told of this over the phone, please bear in mind £100 is a lot to her. So I'm left in KX wondering whether she's got the money in her account to pay for it, it's a sunday so if she hasn't the ticket office bloke says there's nothing he can do. GNER would have left me stranded in Kings cross station with no money, nothing. After saying he couldn't contact Newcastle Lost Property to see if any of my belongings had turned up he then sent me on a wild goose chase round the staion to try and find lost property so they could give me Newcastles number. The horror story goes on. In the meantime, luckily my mother comes up with the money - I'm saved, but by this point I'm left crying my eyes out with a long journey to Folkestone still to go - not ...
