Chase is situated on Newcastle's Quayside at the foot of the Tyne Bridge on the north side of the Tyne.
Although I don't frequent it all that often , every time I go there it is always a pleasant experience. The building itself is all glass and chrome with a vaguely nautical feel (port holes in the loos and fish tanks dotted about the place). The ceilings are very high and the air conditioning is excellent so you're never choking on someone else's smoke, which I find can ruin a night out.
There is plenty of room to move and plenty of seating available, although some of this is uncomfortable, including an outdoor area which is great in summer.
When you enter , there are usually two or three menacing looking , but smartly dressed and usually very pleasant bouncers who normally welcome you in. I'm unaware of any dress code. I certainly haven't been stopped and quite often go in wearing jeans, T-shirt and trainers.
The drinks prices used to be expensive , but the last few times that I've been have been quite reasonable. There was no happy hour advertised, but the prices seemed close to happy hour prices. They also have enough staff behind the bar, so you're seldom waiting very long to get served , even when the place is very busy, and again , the staff are very pleasant.
Chase also serve bar meals , although these are expensive for what you get, but are always reasonable fast and extremely appetising.
Although the place is aimed at the Quayside / Bigg Market reasonably affluent clientele, this is without doubt one of the better pubs on the Quayside , and is well worth a visit if you are that way inclined. It is also close to several restaurants (Uno's, Sabatini's, Sachin's) and so is an ideal location for a pre or post meal drink.

Advantages: They do get there - eventually Disadvantages: Terrible customer relations, don't trust them to book your seat, look after you when things go wrong, be at all sympathetic
