Chester Zoo is an exciting experience that you will always remember, the zoo is the UKs number oneZoo and is situated close to the historic city of Chester.
This zoo set in 110 acres of gardens, in this stunning setting of over 7000 animals, more than 400 of these species of rare, exotic and endangered wildlife.
Chester Zoo's gardens are famous with different garden areas representing different regions and plants. They provide a glorious surrounding to the animals and reflect the natural habitats of some of our most exotic species.
That averaged that every year at Chester Zoo's animals eat their way through over £200,000 worth of food, so the zoo run special programs to help raise this money to feed the animals.
LOCATION
The zoo itself is very easy to get to, as it is in easy reach of the major motorway networks in the North of England. From the M56, Junction 14, or M53 Junction 12, it is very well sign posted.
For sat nav arrival just type in the post code CH2 1EU.

ZOO
MEMBRSHIP
The zoo is currently running a membership program that enables them to raise money to help support the animals. For a fee of 40.00 - 50.00 per year you can take advantage of,
Unlimited free entry 20% discount in the zoos shops and cafes 3 monthly magazine Life membership for free after 25 years continuous membership
ANIMAL ADOPTION
This is another way to help raise money for the animals, help endangered animals by becoming an animal adopter. Take a share in the costs of Chester Zoo's massive animal food bill and play a direct part in the zoo's conservation work.
Almost half of the zoo's animals are listed as being endangered, including several extinct or near extinct animals. So by adopting you help protect species that otherwise face extinction.
Anyone can join the adoption scheme for as little as £50 per year. Just pick your favourite animal and decide how many 'shares' at £50 you would like. You can have a single share (or more) in any animal species.
As well as the great feeling that you are actually doing something practical to help you get an certificate, a full colour magazine and an invitation to attend one Chester's adopters days. For most species we are also able to include an image of the animal, will receive 2 complimentary tickets which you can use at any time during the year of your adoption.
To find out more or adopt an animal you can contact experts at Chester zoo, from Monday - Friday between 8.30am and 6.00pm.
KEEPER FOR DAY
Another scheme provided by the zoo is keep for a day. This is a popular wildlife attraction that can really get you involved with real Zoo life.
See what goes on behind the scenes, and get involved in the daily work of a keeper, from food preparation, feeding and cleaning out to anything that might happen, the day starts at 8.00am and finishes at 5.00pm.
Keeper for a Day gives you the opportunity to work with the animals of your choice, including some of the most endangered species in the world.
You can have one extra guest at no charge, although the guest will not be working alongside you and can only enter the Zoo after 10.00am.

MY OPINION
Well I have to say I have not been to the zoo I years and I really did enjoy this day out, it was really easy to get to and very well signposted so I could not get lost.
The zoo itself has some amazing animals and exhibits some of which are better than others, I think the zoo are slowly working their way through redesigning the exhibits, but it is one of those things that are a very slow process as there are lots of factors that need to be considered.
I found the eating and drink establishments within the zoo to be very clean and tidy, serving basic but nice meals. The prices were very reasonable as well.
I was amazed by the commitment the staff had to the animals, they seemed to genuinely love and care for the animals, which in my opinion I a very good quality. I would love to be able to work there and to have their determination and drive, maybe I should go on the keeper for day scheme.
All the staff were very friendly and chatty with the exception of one, he looked so sad bless him I would be the same if I had to walk around picking up everyone else's litter.
Overall we spent 55.00 for the whole day, this got us admission for two adults, lunch and tea and a few drinks during the day. So all in all we found it very reasonable because as I see it what else can you do for 8 hours solid for only 55.00.
This day out was worth every penny and I would highly recommend it to everyone.
