Manufacturer's product description
At the most stylish restaurant in Toulouse, you can enjoy the cuisine of master chef Michel Sarran. Sarran's wife, Françoise, oversees the three red, green, or violet dining rooms, in the heart of town on separate floors of a building near the Novotel Centre. The creative dishes have attracted diners as diverse as the prime minister of France and show-biz types like Sophie Marceau and Gilbert Becaud. The food brings out the flavors of southern and southwestern France. Start with a warm soup of foie gras and oysters, or perhaps a cup of organic yogurt studded with black truffles from the Périgord. Move on to a succulent version of poached sea bass served with a creamy polenta and lobster sauce; or perhaps a portion of roasted wild black boar from the underpopulated Bigorre region of France, served in a stewpot with thyme and wine-roasted potatoes. Dessert might include ravioli stuffed with creamed oranges and served with an aspic of sweet white Gaillac wine.
Advantages: location location location Disadvantages: not cheap for drinks etc from the bar.
...The crown Plaza hotel in the centre of the old town of Toulouse is a great place for a romantic weekend break. BMI fly in to Toulouse from Manchester so two hours after boarding the plane we had just a twenty minute (20 Euro) taxi drive from Toulouse Blagnac airport to get to the hotel. I booked using the www.ichotelsgroup.com website which is a very easy way of finding the best hotel anywhere in the world within the group (Holiday Inn, Intercontinental and Crowne Plaza). So I had read that the location for this hotel was on Place Capitole in the centre of the old town of Toulouse. What a result. We didn't hire a car because we just wanted to stay in the city centre and do the café / museum / cathedral / restaurant chill out weekend and from this hotel just a short walk to all the above was possible. One of Toulouse's best known...

...Toulouse is a wonderful City that is often missed by the traveller. It is used by many skiers during the winter as a transit point for the Pyrenees or Andora.
The city is a true contrast between ancient and modern. The ancient being the old town full of wonderful museums and quaint resturaunts. The modern being the new developments associated with the new industries moving into Toulouse mainly attracted by the presence of the Airbus Industrie facility.
Toulouse is now one of the major centres of the European Aircraft Industry and as a result has quite a cosmopolitan flavour.
I can highly recommend it as European destination for a short (or long) break....

...A few years ago my mother-in-law bought a plot of land in the south of France with the intention of building a house to live in. That was the summer of 1998. That Christmas, my husband and I went to visit and we crammed as many wonderful places into our week holiday as possible. One place in particular was fascinating. This place was le city de l’espace, Toulouse. (Space City for anyone not up on the French lingo!) It was a relatively new attraction when we visited – less than a year since first opening. It was a huge place with outdoor and indoor attractions.
As it was the middle of winter (and even the south of France has a winter!) we decided to get the outdoor bit over and done with first as it was very cold and windy although the sky was clear and blue and the sun was shining. There was plenty to see and do...
